Do yourself a favor and skip the Vultures and go straight to Kaibabs or better. Swarovskis remain the gold standard for 15X binos!

Conifer trees/Oak/Chapparal = Rocky Mtn Mule Deer Palo Verde/Saguaro/Creosote = Desert Mule Deer There are both sub-species in 23. Think Rocky near the Rim and Desert down by Roosevelt Lake. There is very likely a zone that has both sub-species intermingling.

Cool story and great buck! How did I miss this one? I too can appreciate the way this site brings hunters together. Adam is one of those guys who gets it for sure. Well deserved. Great job working as a team to get it done guys. Seriously though, 3 guys to pack out a coues buck? You guys need to look into a Kifaru! LOL! Just giving you crap Adam!

If Miller's has a truck nearby, it's a no brainer for me. I've been a very satisfied customer of their's twice now. Once on an elk and most recently a deer. I left the meat with my fancy Caribou Gear game bags and got those back no problem all packaged up nice in butcher paper frozen with the meat. That's going above and beyond. The processing part is always great as well. You tell them how you want it when you check it in, and they even call you to confirm before they get started. Turn around time was good as well. Prices are reasonable. I've also heard good things about Casey's and heard bad about one of the others mentioned but no personal experience with either.

In my experience sometimes you just have to wait out the bad times and look forward to better times. In case Ol Turd Ferguson gets shady have your ducks in a row and don't be afraid to put the screws to him! Good Luck!

x2 above, that was possible before USO sued the Department over the up to 10% cap on tags for NR's. Yes you should be able to buy his tag if he has a license.

IA Born that is an awesome salute brother! My Dad served in the Marine Corps in Morocco and Vietnam. He was with ANGLICO in Vietnam and was involved with the POW camp at Chu Lai. Taught other Special Operation men how to jump at Yuma Proving Ground before he got out which is how I ended up in Yuma. Like many other Veterans and pretty much exactly what IA Born described, part of my father never made it home from Vietnam. Big Thanks to all those who have served!

Happy Birthday Marines! Although I didn't serve, the Marine Corps' Birthday is a special day for me because I can celebrate my Dad's Birthday and his service. We lost him to cancer this summer so this year means more to me than ever before. Here's a big Thank You to all the Men and Women who put on the uniform. Especially the ones who made the ultimate sacrifice and didn't make it home! To their loved ones, my prayer is that you understand how grateful my family is for the price paid for Freedom!

Hope you haven't washed your stuff yet! Please don't make the mistake I did and let your stuff get washed with regular detergent! Synthetics should get washed in something made for these higher tech fabrics like the Sportwash from Atsko you can get at Walmart or similar. You do NOT want to use Tide and the like. It will not only strip off the DWR that is on the surface of many of these fabrics, the fabric softeners and UV brighteners will clog up the DWR making it not function as designed. My wife got a hold of my Attack pants and washed them in regular detergent with my other stuff and ruined my pants. The DWR has never been the same since. Almost like it was never there. I need to try a wash in DWR with my pants to get it back.

Did you guys see the stop light in the middle of nowhere too? I got a kick out of that! Great hunt! Loved all the pics! Sounds like a great hunting partner you have there. Sorry she didn't get her buck. We took a lever action 30-30 along on my stepson's hunt. He was ready to rock and roll with my .270 with a scope but ended up taking his deer with the lever gun with open sights. Never hurts to have a couple of different guns for whatever scenario presents itself. I can understand not wanting her to take a rushed shot. I thought about that, but was pleasantly surprised when Andrew made a heart shot on his deer with no a lot of trigger time with that gun. I think his shotgun shooting helped him on that one. Thanks again for sharing!
