    Help!

Well I'm no expert but it seems to me the most important part about shed hunting is just getting out there and covering ground. It helps to look at the ground too, which is hard for me because I'm usually looking for animals. I don't find the amount of sheds these guys do but I find a few. One thing I will say is that when you find one, look the surrounding area over well. I have found the majority of my antlers in the same proximity of others. I think the bucks and bulls herd up that time of year so if you happen on to their range when they are dropping you are set. Myself I have had lousy luck in bedding areas. I know people post a lot of pics of antlers laying in beds but I have not had such luck. It seems I find them more in feeding areas. Anywhere the animal spends a lot of time is a good place to start though I would imagine. I think I have found one antler along a fenceline and one at a water hole. I think getting out early is also important because the longer they sit the better chance something will find them and pick them up or chew them up. The white ones are easier to see though. Anyway that's all I can think of. Good luck, maybe somebody else has some better advice, I know I'd be happy to hear it too!
  2. Oh I'd shoot him! But then again I'm not known as a trophy hunter. Passed up my first two animals this past year actually. Second day of the first november hunt in 36B I passed on a spike at just over 200 yards, only because I had seen so many bucks scouting. Wish I would have taken that shot now, I didn't fill my tag and he would have been tender. Then I passed up a spike early the first morning of elk season, only to shoot a small 4x4 the second day. He wasn't big but boy is he tasty. Anyway cool picture, I may have to try out this trail camera bit, it looks pretty sweet.

    neat little shed

Nice one. Is that in 36B by any chance? My brother found a set last year that looked very similar. I will post pics of them in a minute. Good job!

    Introduction with antler pics

Hey all, just wanted to introduce myself. I've been viewing this site for awhile now but haven't got around to posting so I figured I'd give it a shot. I went out predator hunting with Firstcoueswas80 awhile back before he left for the acadamy, and he told me I should get to posting. Anyway I'm born and raised here in AZ, spent my undergrad years in Flagstaff, now I'm at UofA for graduate school. Needless to say I am happy with the amount of deer around the tucson area, these coues deer are a blast to chase after! Called in a doe today while coyote hunting, but no coyotes. Anyway here is a coues shed I found last javelina season, biggest I've found although my brother found a set just a hair bigger. Soda can for scale. He's not as big as some of the monsters you guys post here but I would be tickled to get him.
