Im taking my Brother in-law on the same hunt, its a great hunt and the bulls are still up top. If you read the unit 27 hunt details on the GF website it actually says the mature bulls migrate down regardless of snowpack but thats 27. weve had alot of sucess in 1 on that hunt, the only tough year was about 10 years ago when we couldnt get around the snow drifts to get up top. I was told years ago from a local friend up there that the bulls dont move down until they cant break through the ice to drink and last year in 27 we found alot of ponds with hoove marks where they were trying but im sure all the bulls are different. Im sure they couldve counted those goats from a little higher up and not buzzed them out of the country especially during such an important hunt for many. I dont think they count every animal during a survey they see so many and use a formula based on what theyre seeing right? But the important question is did you get an antelope? Mark

Throw the tape away, If it looks like a toad then its big enough, but of course the hunter has to be happy with it. If shes happy with it dont put a tape on it if it would make her unhappy with her trophy Ive seen #s ruin peoples trophies. Have a Great Hunt Mark

I think too many of the peolple out there are treating hunting as serious competition and they dont want anyone to out do them but I still think the respectful hunter still out numbers the disrespectful.A friend of mine was stalking a bear in 27 a few years ago with his bow when some other hunter and his Guide came upon his buddy who was watching the bear for him, he informed them that someone was stalking the bear with is bow and was pretty close so they took off running to close the distance and shot at the bear with a rifle. If I come upon people stalking or watching an animal they are going to pursue I offer to help them anyway I can or just sit back and watch the show as long as I dont interfere. Mark
