Ide love some ideas to take some youth on either day trips or camp out over nighters .... even a family trip for example in the spring when it’s still cold up here in the wht mnts i like to take my scouts down by Roosevelt & camp & then sat morning go hike the tonto national monument & see the old Indian ruins / houses up in the cliffs . canyon de Chellley is another cool canyon to go see & hike down to the old dwellings at the bottom of that canyon ... anyway any good ideas ? For overnighter or day trips ?

Took two of my boys out Friday morning in the nasty wind and rain- was pretty chilly glassing at daylight - but we managed to find a group and me and the youngest were able to put two down and an hour latter drummed up another and not to be outdone by his little brother , my other son was able to get one as well . the crazy part was - it had been shot before - we didn’t know until skinning but The right bullet is my sons 243 - the left bullet appears to be a 22, ..... the “22” bullet just went through the skin and mushroomed against the shoulder blade - no telling how long it has been in the pig just under the skin - zero penetration - My sons bullet went through the pig from the opposite side stopped just under the skin before exciting - both bullets were touching and appeared to be one bullet when digging them out . But as we dug them out could see they were actually two bullets . His new and an old one .

It was grizzled over with scar tissue and the didn’t look very good - so we cut that part out - Yea all of ours had exited up to this point - I wonder if the old bullet - and the thicker scar tissue is what stopped it from exiting and it was and angled shot so went in about last rib and angled all the way though and went through shoulder blade on opposite side and stopped at the bullet .... Kev - no you can see the lead inner core all musheroom out at the base of true copper ... and there was old scar tissue grizzly stuff around it .

Cabela’s used to take 72 hours to post from pending - & you couldn’t look up the pending without calling them . So you had to wait or call - NOW with the switch over to capital one- the pending is the first thing that comes up when you log in - & it’s posts to that file very fast after the charge . So you can see it really easy Now . Yes Cabela’s cards have been hit

Hey Jeff , i think you got your woods mixed up just teasing looks great as usual - have you ever tried these hinges for those big lids ? I loved them for cedar chest lids they hold really well and are a Little stiff so the lid won’t slam shut and they hold the lid open as well ....... they also make a really nice lock that I liked that went on the inside , is all you do is drill one 1/2” hole I think it was and that’s all that’s shown on the front of the cedar chest - kinda makes it nice to be locked up . But as usual great work . Hope all is well! Tommy

Live Trap- trying to remove a coyote in town.
tomgobbler replied to AntlerObsession's topic in Classified Ads
Very difficult to get a coyote in a live trap - I’ve seen one personally and it was a young coyote .....cats and foxes no problem- coyotes not so much .....a foot hold would do it if it’s legal - not sure of the in city and all that stuff - but I wouldn’t count on catching him in a live trap .... just from my experience. ive got half a dozen traps your welcome to borrow and give it a try if youde like - I’m in Taylor though. -
I need a rag horn elk cape if any of you late hunters get a bull and don’t need the cape - have a guy that harvested his first ever elk - rag horn size - and his guide cut the cape in front of the legs instead of behind them - needless to say it’s a foot to short .... so need a replacement - Needs to have all the brisket / arm pit area / and front leg area - something that hasn’t been dragged out of the woods by a quad too thanks in advance !

Thanks for the offer Ed - I’m a taxidermist and looking for the cape for one of my clients. THanks though .

I had a guy order this pedestal several years ago and then decided he wanted a wall mnt after I built it - I’ve been kicking it around stumbling over it in my shop for several years and it needs a new home . He was going to have his glass guy put glass in the sides and glass shelves .... I never got around to it , but you could put glass shelves and put a bear/javelina/lion skull in It and would be pretty neat, or any other trinckets for that matter . It would hold a coues / muley / antelope just fine ..... any “ pose would attach to it , pedestal - wall pedestal or regular wall form would screw right to it ..... the base it 19” narrowing to about 13” at the top , the top piece is 25” across ..... 36” tall .... the brush / grass could be pulled out / redone to put what ever you wanted in for vegetation ..... $75 no idea why the pic are sideways or how to change them ....

hsd a bull buggling his head off this morning chasing cows like nothing was wrong with him - my friends son snuck in on him and shot him at 44 yards . He had a little blood on his face thought he had took an antler tip while fighting - I boiled & cleaned the skull for him -a swacker broadness has went in side of face -angled through sinus cavity lodged in the bone under the eye . Arrow shaft had snapped off even with the hide . Bull acted like nothing was wrong

Wish u were closer to Taylor - would love to have it . -
My dad had a lady want a casket built for her husband & then she decided she wanted to go a different route . Solid built , blue pine , beautiful cowhide wrapped corners, real saddle stirrups for the handles . This will fit in the regular fiberglass shell. Hope no one ever needs it , but life happens so if you have an ailing dad, grandpa etc . This is old cowboy style , built by an ole cowboy !

Yes lots of time & work went into it . I told him he wasn’t asking enough $$ for it . With what he had into it . Puts a new meaning to an old pine box - as that’s what it is
