Is a .243 enough for a cow hunt?

That’s what my kids use and we havnt had a problem - shot placement is key not caliber - broadside double lung - and 243 does a fine job .

Live Trap- trying to remove a coyote in town.

Very difficult to get a coyote in a live trap - I’ve seen one personally and it was a young coyote .....cats and foxes no problem- coyotes not so much .....a foot hold would do it if it’s legal - not sure of the in city and all that stuff - but I wouldn’t count on catching him in a live trap .... just from my experience. ive got half a dozen traps your welcome to borrow and give it a try if youde like - I’m in Taylor though.

    Small elk cape needed

I need a rag horn elk cape if any of you late hunters get a bull and don’t need the cape - have a guy that harvested his first ever elk - rag horn size - and his guide cut the cape in front of the legs instead of behind them - needless to say it’s a foot to short .... so need a replacement - Needs to have all the brisket / arm pit area / and front leg area - something that hasn’t been dragged out of the woods by a quad too thanks in advance !

  9. I had a guy order this pedestal several years ago and then decided he wanted a wall mnt after I built it - I’ve been kicking it around stumbling over it in my shop for several years and it needs a new home . He was going to have his glass guy put glass in the sides and glass shelves .... I never got around to it , but you could put glass shelves and put a bear/javelina/lion skull in It and would be pretty neat, or any other trinckets for that matter . It would hold a coues / muley / antelope just fine ..... any “ pose would attach to it , pedestal - wall pedestal or regular wall form would screw right to it ..... the base it 19” narrowing to about 13” at the top , the top piece is 25” across ..... 36” tall .... the brush / grass could be pulled out / redone to put what ever you wanted in for vegetation ..... $75 no idea why the pic are sideways or how to change them ....

    Bull Elk are Tough!!

hsd a bull buggling his head off this morning chasing cows like nothing was wrong with him - my friends son snuck in on him and shot him at 44 yards . He had a little blood on his face thought he had took an antler tip while fighting - I boiled & cleaned the skull for him -a swacker broadness has went in side of face -angled through sinus cavity lodged in the bone under the eye . Arrow shaft had snapped off even with the hide . Bull acted like nothing was wrong

    Cowboy casket

My dad had a lady want a casket built for her husband & then she decided she wanted to go a different route . Solid built , blue pine , beautiful cowhide wrapped corners, real saddle stirrups for the handles . This will fit in the regular fiberglass shell. Hope no one ever needs it , but life happens so if you have an ailing dad, grandpa etc . This is old cowboy style , built by an ole cowboy !

    Cowboy casket

Yes lots of time & work went into it . I told him he wasn’t asking enough $$ for it . With what he had into it . Puts a new meaning to an old pine box - as that’s what it is

    “Big” flat screen TVs

What do you do with a big 56 flat screen tv when your kids are Messing around & throw something against it & breaks it ... ( besides tanning some back sides ) ....not really broken as in loose glass, but 1/4 of the screen is blacked out with what looks like break lines . The rest of the tv works & looks fine . Is there places that fix these or are they done for & just throw them in a dumpster? Or other places to take them ?

    “Big” flat screen TVs

Hoghntr - sure we can always use an extra hand Lance - for sure they do - and yea that’s probably what will happen I was more wondering if there was a place that “recycles/fixes” them - or if they are like everything else now days and “disposable” .... just seems a shame to throw it away when everything is still good .... I’m used to a little welding and bailing wire to make things keep going ..... but seems like the dumpster is the answer.

    “Big” flat screen TVs

Mill house great advise - kids are way to plugged in these days . We had our original 20” tube tv ever since getting married 20 years ago . FINALY last year got the tv on sale . In 20 years of marriage we have never been connected to cable - satellite or any other thing . We’ve had a few vhs’s and now recently Netflix and that’s it . My kids have never the PlayStations x-box’s or anything like that. What they do have is 4 horses , 20 head of mother cows , 30 acres in alfalfa , and another 30 in corn or permanent pasture . My boys 11-14-17 work 6-8 hr every summer day building fence , painting corrals , irrigating , hauling hay , hoeing weeds, cleaning out stalls , feeding , branding , working cows , mowing there law, weeding and picking the garden etc . And most days have the horses ridden before all of that starts . So yea I agree on being unplugged . Kids don’t know how to work these days .

    1/2 a beef

Now that the draw is done & some freezers wont be getting any elk or deer in them anyone need any beef ? Ive got a really nice steer Im getting ready to take in . Been on nice grass irrigated pasture , not out in tbe dry scrub . My son has a cow elk tag, & we had two cows last year . So Ill be lucky if I get 1/2 in my freezer , so decided to part with the other half . Around 18-20 months old , grass pasture all natural , no hormones . Im no expert on weight & I do not have a scale . But these are fat and sassy & ready to go & not skin & bones turned out culls . $1350.00 for half , cut & wrapped by malapia meat packing , according to your specs .
