I've been up scouting in Unit 1 this past week for my archery elk hunt and did not see any fresh rubs and the bulls I did see were still in velvet.

They have a loooong break in period of 50 miles before they are truly comfortable for some. I have several pairs of them and have felt the break-in pain but love them once they are broke in. This is a great deal for somebody.

How many ounces are the #8 shot?

Gunslinger, The unit as a whole has elk just about everywhere. Grab an Apache Sitegraves map, pick a spot and start scouting. I'm heading back up for the 3rd time in the past 4 weeks to scout. Its going to be a great year.

They sell for $600-650 used and I can see from the serial # it was made in 2005.

Those Ruger M77's are nice and very accurate (at least the two that I own). Is this a Tang Safety or a 3 position model?
