I believe what you have there is a piebald deer, not an actual albino. Still pretty unusual.

Something is wrong with the draw this year.
couesdiehard replied to Dbllung's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
Don't see anything anywhere that says a non-Hopi can even apply for these tags even when they are left-overs. Hope I am wrong but I don't think I am. Check this out. http://azgfd.net/artman/publish/NewsMedia/...t_printer.shtml -
Did a little digging and found this article to be the most informative. I'll let everyone decide for themselves whether or not this is a good deal for Arizona, the Hopi Tribe or both. http://azgfd.net/artman/publish/NewsMedia/...t_printer.shtml

DCMHunter, I believe you have misread elk hunting note # 36. I understand it to say that the agreement opened tribal lands in these units to hunting by non-tribal members who drew regular tags in that hunt unit anyway (giving non-tribal members who drew more area to hunt) in exchange for setting aside a percentage of the tags for these units only for tribal members exclusively to draw. What's more, I don't see anything in that note saying that the Hopi hunt tags recipients (tribal members only), must hunt only on tribal lands. That's how I read it anyway. Sure would like G & F to explain the details of this agreement (% of tags set aside, amount of tribal lands and locations that were opened up to non-tribal members, etc.) -

almost all the leftover tags are 2800 & 3800 series tags. These tags are for Hopi tribal members only per agreement with G & F. -
Nothing for me. Antelope is in my near future though with 17 BPs going into this draw. I figure 2-3 years max. Better start e-scouting now. Oh yeah, the wife got a cow tag in 3A/3CE in Oct., so we will have a family trip out of it and God willing some tender elk venison in the freezer.

Gigs UP!!! What's up with the leftover tags?????
couesdiehard replied to RoughCut's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
Remember this was a deal made with the Hopi Tribe to allow non-members to hunt on the tribal lands in exchange for a set aside of tags for tribal members. I wondered how this would play out. Doubt any of those tags will go to non-tribal members. -
We get different reports from AZG&F staff every draw. The things I've noticed is that they never seem to agree and the folks at the draw office rarely give the correct answer. They generally give the safe answer. Good luck to all in the draw.

WHY I WON'T GO TO MEXICO
couesdiehard replied to billrquimby's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Mexico
90% of the killings in Mexico are a result of a minority of American's insatiable appetite for illegal crap to put in their lungs, noses and veins combined with an economy (in Mexico) with very little to offer the working class and poor. It's all supply and demand friends. Americans stop demanding it and the problem evaporates. -
What would be a good reward per head of mindless, statistic-inventing, human-hating, Humane Society member? For everyone you killed legally your public school would produce 10 more.

prayers sent for Jason and the whole family.

That's a heck of a big chest. Why would someone want to freeze their chest?

"You all had better believe that if GameHauler actually had a body like the outline on that hood.... he'd be a woman.... and then very likely to have been thrown over the hood of a car by me! " I just puked up my lunch!

Take care of the meat guys!
couesdiehard replied to huntingfool's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
I have gone to boning out the meat where the critter drops almost exclusively. Main reason is that my mentors used to drive all the way home with the critter on the hood and complained every time they ate the meat. Oh they ate it all (the grew up dirt poor) but almost to a man, they disliked venison. First time I fed venison to my dad after skinning it and cooling the meat immediately, he couldn't believe how good it tasted. Second reason for boning out the meat on the spot is that I realized that I was hauling bones and hide back to camp for nothing. Nothing better than getting back to camp, throwing a bag full of meat and cape on ice, and opening up a cold one. I have never looked back or eaten such fine venison. -
azyoung, You want me to cook? Watch what you wish for Bud! Yeah we will have to see about that Young trip in spring. Lee

Doug, Thanks for the input. Can't argue with your logic. I was already thinking along those lines. I have never made an error applying for hunts before but maybe I forgot the stamps or something like that. I will give G & F a call to see what info they can provide. I'll post an update if I figure it out. Lee

I am confused. I mailed applications in for spring turkey and javelina this year before the dead-line. When I found out the results were posted I called and checked online. After entering all my info on the phone I got the recording "Draw results are not available...." When enter my info online the page that comes says "Draws" and then blank with my bonus points table below that. I went back to my bank statements and the checks I wrote to G & F have not been cashed. I have never had this happen. Anybody on the site had this experienc? Seems like the snail mail didn't get my apps there on time but I thought G &F would have cashed my checks or returned them by now. Lee

Yeah them copper bullets suck what with the way the kill everything they hit with one shot. Cheats you right out of all the fun of turning the critter into swiss cheese before it perishes like good old lead bullets do. What a stupid concept - the copper bullet - small hole going in, huge hole going out.

Tuesday I called AZG&F to check status of spring draw and got the recording saying that the 2009 Fall hunt draw results were available.. Today I called and the recording has changed to, "Draw results are unavailable at this time." Usually that means they are loading the results now and they should be available soon. Good luck to all who applied. Lee

I have a situation I know you guys on the site can help me with. My twin sons each drew wt deer tags for 11-27 to 12-03-09. As much as I looked forward to guiding them to their first big-game kills, they have informed me they no longer want to go on this hunt. They both made the JV soccer team and their first game is during the hunt. They have worked very hard to raise their grades and make this team, so as much as dad wants them to hunt this year, I am being very supportive of their soccer aspirations and let them off the hook for the hunt. I have seen posts about one or more non-profits on this site who take terminally-ill kids hunting who could use these tags if my boys aren't. Who can direct me to one of these groups so I can feel that at least somebody's kids gets the joy of this experience? It sure would help me feel a lot better about the whole situation. Thanks in advance to the members of the best hunting site in the world. Lee

Donating deer tags
couesdiehard replied to couesdiehard's topic in Miscellaneous Items related to Coues Deer
Thanks Amanda, GH and willhunt, Sent email to Eddy and Chris. Will talk to one of them soon. BTW, the twins liked the idea. I'm getting stoked about a couple of kids getting an opportunity they might not have gotten. Hope they can find a couple of kids on short notice. Lord works in mysterious ways. Thanks again. Lee -
I was just saying the same thing in a new post! Boy we have a serious addiction.

Heck seen one before.... you never heard of "cow deer tipping?" Way more challenging than tipping bovines.
