http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TC9ldlB51hY I found this buck in 2008, just a few days after I shot a 172" buck. This happened TWO years in a row! I felt blessed to shoot the bucks I did, but then god teased me. I have never seen NT since & I personally didn't feel he was a super old buck at the time. I am not sure if he is alive, but I am going to give him another try in a few short weeks. Go hunting this fall!!! No EXCUSES... Oh yeah, go pick up an Outdoorsman's Resource Guide at a local Wal-Mart, Barnes & Noble or PREFERRED Arizona Bow Shop near you! Read it, then toss it in your truck, because you never know when a phone number will come in handy...

Why did you kill MY DEER! LOL Nope, the quest begins FRIDAY!!!! I CAN'T SLEEP!!! I will probably end up not shooting a buck, but I am going to give it heck. Wife probably hates me about now...

All I can tell you is, scout hard & expect to cover a lot of country. Oh yeah, wear your best camo when you go to check tanks, as it's kinda like walking down the red carpet! Camera, flash, camera, flash, camera, flash... Darn, another one!

I think Amanda shoot quit allowing others to post pictures & stories, it's just BRAGGING! LOL It's all fun & if others don't want to post & share that's their choice. Keep posting!!!

Never new any animal to be that smart... LOL More like Coues are smaller, quicker & less dispersed than mule deer, thus they are a little harder to hunt.

Just wanted to let you guys know that you can go pick-up, browse, or look at the NEW Outdoorsman's Resource Guide in a local Wal-Mart or Barnes & Noble near you starting today. Where to buy the ORG? You guys are our Pro-Staff, so feedback is welcomed & your opinions matter!

Eric, Thanks, it's too much dang work, but nothing worth anything was ever easy. I like you new website, you guys have done some huge improvements since changing the name. A little update: We are on shelves at Barnes & Nobles and slowly but surely getting released on Wal-Mart shelves.

Now that is a dang cool looking Restaurant!

Great post! Honestly, I used to be jealous of a lot of these giants hitting the dirt, but then I realized, "Why the heck am I hunting". Would I be jealous if they killed a spike or raghorn bull with the auction tag every year? Hunt for yourself, hunt to help others & be happy...

As most of you all know National Forest across the country are changing their Travel Management Plans. Below are some links to the PDFs of the NEW maps we have been able to find: Kaibab NF Williams Ranger District Kaibab NF Tusayan Ranger District is expected to update everything in August. Kaibab NF North Ranger District is still reviewing comments & options from what we can find. Prescott NF East-Half Map Prescott NF West-Half Map A decision on the Coconino National Forest Travel Management Rule is expected in Summer 2011 and the Motor Vehicle Use Map to begin enforcement of the Travel Management Rule is expected in December 2011. Apache Sitgreaves NF was suppose to release their NEW Travel Management Map in March of 2011. We just called them this morning & they don't know when they will be published. You can find the old maps & other information at this link: Apache-Sitgreaves NF Travel Management Tonto NF Travel Management INDEX map You can pull up the pdf of each individual Zones-Districts on their Travel Management page. Coronado NF has 3 different temporary pdfs: Patagonia Redington Santa Rita You can get any of the maps for FREE at the offices. Personally, I realize on some of the NF we had too many roads, but it seems like a lot of red tape to jump through for us hunters. Another issue I have is why aren't all of these maps uniform & published at the same time? If you have anything to add, feel free chime on in...

TJ, You will like this years ORG if you liked last years. Honestly, I can't even look at last years now that we have made drastic improvements on the design, layout & added some unique spreads. Don't get me wrong, last years ORG had lots of great resources, but it looked like my daughter designed that dang thing. I am very critical of this whole process, but your input is valued from one resident hunter to the next. Thanks for the input...

We wanted to let you know that this year's Outdoorsman's Resource Guide will hit Magazine Racks July 26th. So, if you are a skeptic visit our dealer page & when they hit the shelves go check one out. Where to buy the Outdoorsman's Resource Guide? Make sure to visit our dealer page often as we will be updating this page as we secure dealers throughout Arizona, the Southwest & across the country. We want your feedback, so please shoot us some emails. In the past we have been somewhat looked over by some big box sporting good stores & advertising businesses because we are too specific. As a DIY hunter & knowing several quality guides we want specific & we wanted to produce something that could really hold some value & make a difference. We think we have done that, now it's your turn to let us know... We can't stress enough how much we want your feedback. Your feedback will determine what direction we take the Outdoorsman's Resource Guide & how others perceive this PRODUCT. dang, I wish I was out scouting & hunting instead of stuck in this office. Thanks,

I was able to attend the last Regional meeting in Kingman this past week. There was 30 sportsmen that filled the room & voiced a lot of opinions. We heard Prescott had 26 people & another meeting had 17. Did anyone on here attend any of the meetings? Most of the talk was about the general deer guidelines & the predator management policies. I personally was very pleased that they are finally recognizing the issues with access in all of Arizona, but especially in Region 3. Hopefully, something will come out of these group meetings & we can help improve these situations. Also, almost everyone in attendance agreed not the answer the question regarding would we rather shoot a trophy animal or hunt more often. 30 sportsmen told them this was a bogus question & they were TRYING to get the answer they wanted. We kinda felt sorry for Brian at this point, because he was the dart board & we chucked a bunch of darts!

Have any of you guys emailed the Game & Fish or went to a Regional meeting about your disgust over the elk management strategies in Unit 19A? I know it can be a battle, but if you truly feel that strongly about the management in 19A, I would let them know about it. If nothing else it will make you feel good that you took a stand & tried. heck, you might have already been down this road.

Amanda, I couldn't agree with you more... Out of curiosity, where did the ADA come up with proposed units to include throughout the state for the alternate management strategies? It's just my opinion, but I think 18B is not the best choice in Region 3. 16A is the largest unit (most permits too) & has the least amount of access issues, with regards to public land. It's within close proximitiy of Kingman, Lake Havasu & Bullhead City; which are three out of the four largest cities within Region 3 & it is very accesible from the valley. Again, it's just my opinion and I applaud the ADA for again fighting this battle for it's members & all AZ hunters. (18B would be my second choice, but I will take it!!!) Thanks, Craig

I personally felt the question about killing trophy or going hunting more is misleading.... Isn't that like all the questions they posed in the last survey? With decreased permits & healthier herds across the board, you will increase your chances of killing MATURE deer & in some cases might spread the applicants around. I personally want to hunt as much as I can, but I want a quality experience & a healthier herd first. Below are some AZ General Deer Tag Numbers: 1962-92,000 2009-43,000 So, we have lost 50K general deer permits & we are now managing them at 10-20 bucks per 100 does, it doesn't make sense. They are limited resources & we have less land & habitat for them to live in. We have plenty of opportunity to go HUNTING, it's the quality every one wants & it's simply supply & demand. I go hunting every year in AZ! I have an over the counter archery deer tag, unlimited bobcats, coyotes, foxes, small game & PLENTY of draw hunts with 50% odds or better if I want them. We have Javelina tags that can't be given away... Quality does not mean TROPHY, quality means value & retention! Check out these maps: 15A&B Encroachment, Loss of deer tags & the Average hunter

You guys are the experts down in Region 5, so I am trying to find any new meat processors down that way. Here's whom I have: Adam's Meat Processing-Oro Valley Dickmans Meat-Tucson Wild Game Meat Processing-Tuscon Phones are out of service on everyone else I have called. I did talk with one guy who said he did, but when he found out we listed meat processors he quickly said he absolutely did not cut game meat.
