This is Part 1 of a 2011 Youth Mule Deer Hunt. The hunter is 13 years old & has never taken a big game animal. Ernie is truly a great kid & no longer has his father, so being able to be apart of this kids life & the outdoors is very rewarding. Ernie (aka the bigE) has come a long way over the past few years & never complains about ANYTHING (okay, well...maybe...he eats too much & is always hungry). As you watch this video we hope folks understand that kids are our future. Take your dang kids & other kids hunting; there are NO EXCUSES! No matter how rewarding it is for adults to take a big buck or bull, getting our kids involved in hunting will always be more rewarding. </img></img> </img> </img> </img> </img> </img> View the full article

We have some great story submissions from Arizona! Thanks for ALL the submission including 4 Bulls over 360, 3 Mule Deer over 180 & 2 Archery Coues 100! We are starting to work on the NEW cover & layout of 2012 Arizona Hunting Edition, but we are still accepting stories submissions for Arizona & Colorado. They must be DIY and no we don't hate guided hunters or guides, DIY stories are just what the majority of folks want to read about.

Plus 1! How is your dad doing? As you said, it is always fun to have the family around when you experience success! Congrats on a great buck! -
Great buck! Would love to even see a buck like that, let alone kill 'em.

It has been slow... but yes the bulls are bugling, but it has been very limited in the places I have been & from the reports of others. Willing to bet a bunch of cows are going to cycle all at once & it will probably be like someone turning on a "switch". Your dad should hear & see a lot of bulls on that hunt, HAVE FUN!

My good friend & hunting partner finally wrapped his tag around a good one. We have put in a lot of days over the past three years trying to get a great buck on the ground & his smile says it all... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g-rIbWOf1qI We try to add a little bit of everything & the hunt is not all about the kill shot or great footage to us (that's always nice). We have fun & want folks to feel like they can relate to what we are going through & we don't mind getting laughed at a bit. We hope you enjoy... WE DID!!

I would first try to locate bucks by cutting sign in the area, lots of roads & waters to check. Once you find some sign, pull out the topo or look around for the best place to get. Then get up there before it gets light & glass (use a tripod or forget it) for several hours. Do it again that evening & the next day. If you can't find them, try getting a different angle or sometimes staying put is the right answer, even though it feels wrong. This time of year look for country where the Monsoon has put down some moisture. Muleys love chasing that green grass in country that is extremely flat & they get big doing it. After the grass dries up things change & they tend to start browsing more. Keep in mind, if you find tracks they are there, you just aren't seeing them. I hope this helps a little.

Yeah the text is small. If you full size it on YouTube it looks good, but the text needs to be bigger. How about this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YB4ab4Smp3U

He had him tagged there before I could make it to him. I always tag them on a back leg, as I don't want any velvet coming off or looking different.
