I ONLY HAVE BUT TWO RIFLES IN THE 270 CALIBER, BUT I WILL TELL YOU THIS... NOTHING WORSE THAN A SOLID COPPER BULLET. I TRY TO BE PRETTY SCIENTIFICIC WHEN IT COMES TO RELOADING. TO TELL YOU THE TRUTH I HAVEN'T TINKERED, OR HUNTED WITH THE .270" MUCH BUT I WILL SAY THIS! MUCH TO MY EMBARRASMENT, I DID SHOOT A TOTAL OF TWO BUCKS IN 2006. ONE ON STATE LAND AND ONE ON AN INDIAN RESERVATION, AND BOTH RAN LIKE THE DICKENS. BOTH TIMES I HAD A FRIEND (SPOTTER) WITH ME, AND BOTH TIMES THE BUCKS COULD NOT BE RECOVERED. NOW I SUPPOSE THAT HAD I SHOT EITHER OF THEM HARD AND HIGH ON THE SHOULDER IT MIGHT NOT HAVE MATTERED,BUT I AM OF THE OLD ADDAGE THAT IF YOU COULD PUNCH A HOLE IN THE LUNGS THE "PARTY IS OVER"! NOT TRUE HOWEVER. I STILL SHOOT A .30 CAL BULLET GOING AROUND 3350 FPS BUT NOW USE A 168 GR. "TARGET BULLET" AND I PROMISE THAT IS DEVASTATING! SOME SAY THAT IT COULD BREAK UP, SOME MAY SAY THAT IS NOT AS EFFECTIVE BUT, I HAVE TAKEN A TOTAL OF 4 DEER WITH IT AND 5 CARIBOU AND NOT SO MUCH AS A HITCH. BY THE WAY THE SOLIDS WOUNDED"IN MY EXPERIENCE (2 DEER AND 1 BEAR), AND THE A-MAX TOOK AT LEAST 9 BIG GAME ANIMALS WITH NO PROBLEM. BY THE WAY: THE ONLY NON-PASS-THROGH WAS ON A CARIBOU, AND IT WAS AT 330 YRDS AND DROPPED INSTANTLY FROM A SHOT TO THE HARDEST PART OF THE SHOULDER.... THE BULLET WAS RECOVERED ON THE FAR SIDE UNDER THE HIDE. I ALWAYS USED TO THINK THAT BULLET (SHOT) PLACEMENT WAS THE MOST IMPORTANT THING TO CONSIDER BUT NOW I AM A FIRM BELIEVER IN BULLET SELLECTION. I WILL STATE HOWEVER, THAT IF YOU CHOOSE A FACTORY BULLET YOU CAN'T GO WRONG. BUT FOR THE LOVE OF GOD OUR LORD,SAVIOR AND THE HOLY GHOST NEVER!!!! SUBSCRIBE TO SOLID BULLET UNLESS YOUR ARE KILLING BIG 5 IN AFRICA, AND USING BRASS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dad is looking for new glass, I'm looking to set him up if anyone has a used or new(if it's a deal) binocular. A tripod adapter and or legs would be a plus if they are right. Thanks

Advice on Scope BDC's for long range shots
FRAZIER replied to Atypical's topic in Rifle hunting for Coues Deer
Why don't you check out the Shepard scopes. Cabelas has them online and they are pretty slick. You can get them in 10 or 18X. Prices range from $650 to $750 I believe. -
July 2007 Guess the Score Contest
FRAZIER replied to CouesWhitetail's topic in Contests and Giveaways!
I'm guessing 119 & 6 eighths -
If Epperson is around I would like to talk to him about an Elk shed that I sent him some photos of.

That is too funny.

That deer in the corner is a pick up that I found. It is in the photo gallery under coues pick-ups on page three. I got a cape and had velvet put on and it turned out very nice. Even though I didn't take the animal am very proud to have him.

Yea, I did measure the one side. It scored right at 196". I would bet that you could give or take an inch or two. But not any more than that. Thanks.

H-1 is over 13" and the G-3 is over 26"

I have a newer Zeiss Spotting scope for sale. It has the variable eyepiece. I owned one for about 3 years but had a manufacturer defect. I sent it to Zeiss last summer and they sent me a brand new one. So in short this one is less than a year old and has a case. I am asking $1,100 for it. Please, if someone is genuinely interested in it please e-mail me at Mike.frazier@srpnet.com

It was me I confess. Any way, I recently found Fourpoints camera at my salt. I was kind of shocked to say the least. All kinds of things went through my head on what I should do with this situation. But I opted to do the right thing and luckily I had a card and a pen on me so I left him a note inside his camera to call me. I'm glad he did. He called and we spoke briefly about the situation and I left it feeling that we had an agreement that I really wouldn't care to share the spot with anyone. I know that it is unfair for a person to be bold enough to think he is the owner of a certain area, and that is the last thing I want to convey. However, I have been packin salt to this area for over 5 yrs. now. I salt it four times annually not to mention all of the other trips setting the cameras up. Probably an average of 8 trips a year. Needless to say I have a lot of time and dollars invested into it. From the time I leave my home, it takes me 6 1/2 hours round trip including the hour hike. That is if I don't have to stop to buy salt and fuel. It is a bunch of work. Now if I wanted to shoot the first buck that came to the salt, I wouldn't mind if fifty guys wanted to "share" it with me. On the other hand I would like to hunt the best buck that is using the area. Right. It seems to me that fourpoint has decited to go a different way and I appreciate it. If he decides that he is going to find another area, great. But if he is intent on hunting this specific area maybe I could tell him of some of the springs that I know about in the area or use a different salt spot that I abandoned last year because it got to be too much work to haul two salts. I believe it is advantageous to all hunters to create a buffer between the areas that they are using in order to keep the pressure(noise & scent) down. THANKS .
