Figure roughly 800 tags and every tag holder having 2 buddies helping him and your looking at 2400 guys in 6a come sept. I've hunted 6a for 20+ years and my last tag in there was 2011 and I killed a 320" 6x. I don't put in for it anymore becuz of all the people. My best advice to you is be very mobile and be prepared to relocate from people and move around locating bugles. Find a good waterhole with a lot of tracks or a good wallow and sit it in the evenings and chase bugles in the mornings. The highest concentration of hunters will be around Mormon lake and stone man lake and 6a west will be like a walmart parking lot on black fri. There are still a lot of good bulls in there and you should be in action everyday. I like the southern portion of 6a but so does 350 other hunters. Good luck and shoot straight!

Grave digger has not failed me on any elk hunt! Check them out at www.nolimitarchery.com

It seems every year a ram gets taken in 22 with a bow. Problem is you need max pts. 6a for a rocky can be bowhunter friendly and I've also been told 44bn although I've never stepped foot in it. One thing I learned last year on my sheep hunt is that sheep are a curious animal and more times than not you can get fairly close.

How to bring about a consistent draw result release date
ruthunter replied to Xnt's topic in Elk Hunting
So game n fish is dealing with over 800 bad credit cards that were drawn for a tag. There giving 3 attempted phone calls to those people before calling the next in line. All this because the Target situation. I'd like to see it go back to the old paper apps with money up front. -
Cant say enough about how accurate the Ringer is. I love shooting with it!

23n, 9, and 21. Did I say 21?

Wow! 3 people I know who had archery goat tags last year drew again..gotta love our draw system.
-
Just got hit for elk..either my boy or myself drew an archery bull tag.
-
Cool video! It's amazing at the stuff they jump on and from.
-
Guys I have it set to where I get an email sent to me if my card gets a charge...sure saves a lot of time checking your account. One thing is for sure..the draw will happen when it happens.
-
That particular ram was a rocky from 6a that had wondered way off the beaten path. I remember people seeing him in new river before he made his way to lake pleasant.
-
They will hit cards when they want to and release it when they have to.
-
His best chance may be unit 22. Those sheep can be close to the shore but they can also be way up there.

Animals will continued to be wounded at 20 yds and 120 yds. If a guy chooses to take a long shot then so be it. Technology today has made long range shooting easier with moveable sights etc. I've participated in Randy Ulmer 100yd broad head contest the last 2 years and the scores and groups were shooting are phenomenal. I personally have no problem shooting my bow long range but I practice and shoot daily. I think every individual should be there own judgment.

I've seen rutting activity in february before.

Congrats on a great ram!
-
That ram looks heavy and long what a stud! I know Troy Scott and Eric hunt had the 44ae client and they killed a good ram for how tough this year was.

I killed my 17th javi yesterday. I'll probably go kill my 2nd one tomorrow.
