The sheep clinic is free..all tag holders will get invited. Another good thing about the clinic is that there will be alot of last year's rams mounted with posted score. It will give you an idea of what a ram looks like based on his score.

I was in the same boat last year when I drew with 8pts. I had hunted the desert my whole life but not sheep. I scouted every weekend from the time I drew to the hunt. Learn the unit and learn what sheep are in the unit. Find the ram you want to kill and stay with him...remember you only get the tag once. Another thing I would suggest is attend the sheep clinic as someone there has probably hunted your unit before or has info. Another thing to remember is take as many pictures as you can. Alot of hype comes with this hunt so just remember to have fun and not get stressed out. If your going to hire a guide I would highly recommend ADO..ARIZONA DESERT OUTFITTERS. MULEDEERAREA33....... Yes you can still kill a ram. One thing that comes along with a sheep tag is plenty of help. You will have guys come out of the woodwork to help you and if the unit has past hunting history you will get that info. Once you draw a tag you will be offered to attend the sheep clinic and I would highly recommend you do that as somebody there will have info or has hunted your unit before.

Figure roughly 800 tags and every tag holder having 2 buddies helping him and your looking at 2400 guys in 6a come sept. I've hunted 6a for 20+ years and my last tag in there was 2011 and I killed a 320" 6x. I don't put in for it anymore becuz of all the people. My best advice to you is be very mobile and be prepared to relocate from people and move around locating bugles. Find a good waterhole with a lot of tracks or a good wallow and sit it in the evenings and chase bugles in the mornings. The highest concentration of hunters will be around Mormon lake and stone man lake and 6a west will be like a walmart parking lot on black fri. There are still a lot of good bulls in there and you should be in action everyday. I like the southern portion of 6a but so does 350 other hunters. Good luck and shoot straight!

It seems every year a ram gets taken in 22 with a bow. Problem is you need max pts. 6a for a rocky can be bowhunter friendly and I've also been told 44bn although I've never stepped foot in it. One thing I learned last year on my sheep hunt is that sheep are a curious animal and more times than not you can get fairly close.

So game n fish is dealing with over 800 bad credit cards that were drawn for a tag. There giving 3 attempted phone calls to those people before calling the next in line. All this because the Target situation. I'd like to see it go back to the old paper apps with money up front.

Guys I have it set to where I get an email sent to me if my card gets a charge...sure saves a lot of time checking your account. One thing is for sure..the draw will happen when it happens.

That particular ram was a rocky from 6a that had wondered way off the beaten path. I remember people seeing him in new river before he made his way to lake pleasant.

They will hit cards when they want to and release it when they have to.
