I guess I did mean to say run down, my poor choice of wording 😊. I agree that savage is a great deal for anyone looking, it’s definitely a lot of gun, great bear round. I had one in the HS precision model and just never got around to shooting it. After reloading for a buddy of mine I just didn’t want to mess with it after seeing the cost of all the components including the powder. I’ve been toying around about getting a 50 bmg, but the reality of hunting and having a good back stop for the projectile scares me.

Unit 1 was definitely tough, birds would gobble in the morning until they hit the ground then went silent. Talked to a warden and he said the drought has taken a toll on the birds. We had a few responses while birds were in the roost. We hunted hard and in 2 days we did not see a hen. Nuts

I use the 1000 series rcbs ohaus dial-o-grain, the one left in the pic. I just picked up the one to the right (3000 series)not to long ago but will be selling it. I paid $350 for the one I use most but only paid $50 for the one I don’t use. I bought it as a backup. I use the RCBS charge master to throw my powder close then finish it off on the ohaus. anyone interested let me know, going to list it for $50 ftf soon.
