    Vortex 10x50 razor?

I just ordered and recieved the 10X50 razors. They are great! But I did have to send them back to Vortex because the sharp focus was not there at long distances. Glad to say I sent them in last week and just got them back yesterday, and they had replaced the whole unit with a new pair, they said on the invoice that the first pair had a bad DIOPTER,,,,,, which I had no idea what that was so I googled it and found this: Definitions: Diopter (d): A term used to identify the refractive (light bending) capacity of a lens. In magnifiers, there is a direct correlation between focal length and diopter. To find the diopter of a magnification lens, follow these steps. With the eyes 10" above the lens, move the object to be viewed to the point the greatest distance below the lens where it remains in sharp focus. Measure this distance and divide into 1 meter (39.37"). The result is the diopter of the lens - e.g., if the object is at a 13" distance then it is a 3-diopter lens (39.37/13 = 3d). Each diopter increases the size of the viewed object by 1/4 (25%) when the object is at its full focal length from the lens. Field of View: The distance across the lens surface to which the viewer brings both his eyes (note: eyes should be 10" above the lens). It is important to note that as magnification increases, meaning the lenses used are stronger, viewing areas and focal length decrease. Magnification: The degree to which the viewed object is enlarged. Magnification is usually expressed by a number followed by an "x", the symbol used to express power or the size of the object in relationship to its actual size. I do have to give Vortex credit on thier customer service, it was the fastest turn around ever,,, 1 week is fast!!! Kinda sucks that I got a bad pair though. We plan on taking the new ones out this weekend to field test them again! I also have the 15 kiabads and love them!!!

    Need some help in 29

I saw 2 nice bucks on the eastside of the chiricahua mountain. It was a hot day and they in the feilds at the base of the mountains on the Wilcox side. One of them was 115 plus. Might want to try lower, looked like mule deer country but they are in there. just my 2 cents. I hunt there almost every year for archery.

    what would you do?

Ha now thats funny! About 5 years ago first time hunting for coues I was down south in a tree stand. I was in the stand for only an hour when two dudes came down the 2 track road on one quad (dumb and dumber style) to the water hole. I was up high directly across from them. I dont think they saw me so they both got off thier quad walking around the large water hole looking for tracks. I guess they saw nothing that intrested them and started walking back to thier quad. The first guy got on the quad while the other guy turned and started walking back down towards the water directly to me acrcoss the water. I was thinking to myself what the heck is this guy going to do. He stopped right in front of the water and started to take his items off. I waited until he took of his gloves, set them on the ground, took off his rangefinder, took of his jacket, and unzipped his pants and then yelled...... "what the heck". I never saw someone jump back so far!!! It took him a few seconds to find me way up in the tree. He simply said sorry, grabbed his stuff and left!!! Pretty funny stuff, and I was glad I stopped him from ruining my spot!!!

    Bass Pro Billboard on I-10

So as I was heading home tonight, I saw this Bass Pro sign next to the I-10 heading east bound, right before exit 194 just west of skyharbor airport and noticed something. It had a picture of a Eastern Whitetail on it!!! The only animal on the billboard! Being Arizona I would hope they would put an Arizona big game animal on there!!! I think we need to call them to put a coues deer on there!!! Kinda funny, but most people wouldn't know, a deer is a deer to most folks. I just think of Eastern Whitetails on corn fields on private land and having to pay allot of money for a good tags. But then again I have no idea on easterns, but I know I have no desire to hunt them. I love the pursuit on public land! ha!
