Thanks guys for all the great comments. This was a tuff hunt and tons of fun all at the same time. The rifle is a rem 700 300 RUM with a Hart Barrel topped with a zeiss scope. It took just over a year to get done, everything is custom on it. It weighs about 9.5 pounds with a 26" #5 contour barrel. Shooting the Berger 210 VLD at 3205 fps, and with 1/2 group at 300 yards I can max out at to 1475 yards with the MOA on the scope. Some other things on the rifle are: vais brake, David Tubbs light weight firing pin and spring for better lock time, glass and pilar bedded sheep hunters Hi-tech stock with a custom spray paint job by me , oversized lug, cheek piece hand made by a friend Todd South alond with some milling work on the bolt, 20moa NF base, and seekins rings.

I just shot my buck the other day with the 210 vld and had a 1 1/2" exit hole. Not bad! That is pretty narley on the exit hole. Thanks for the pics

I have had numerous encounters with illeagals in 29! Since 2001 ive ran into them about 5 times, only once at night. No drug runners thank goodness but they are there! I had to skip out on the archery hunt this year because of the fire, so this might have an effect of them comin through. If you get in the thick stuff you will the trash and sign that they have been there!

Well looks like I won't be huntin Friday due to the wifes grandpa pasted away yesterday! Dane it!!!! If he was alive he would tell me not to miss opening morning and come see his grave after I shot a deer! I might be able to hunt Friday evening crossing my fingers!!!

Just out of Springerville if you follow the Little Colorado River north tends to hold alot of nice mule deer bucks. I would focus on the water supplies like the creeks and tanks that hold water year round. As a kid my Papa would take us kids around to all the tanks up there in 2A,2b, and 2c and tranfer gold fish to all the tanks. We would always jump bucks at these water tanks in the early mornings. Quite often if you stop along the road by Becker lake you can see all the mule deer hidding in the meandering little colorado.

The buck i shot last year started out in the middle of a group of 12 cattle. I thought it was kinda crazy that he was right in the middle them feeding along.
