From what I understand it can not fit in a short action unless its custom. You don't want to go long action because that defeats the purpose of the WSM. I just got done getting one put together and it required a lot a machining to make the 7 mm WSM work smoothly in a short action. Look for my thread on the 7mm WSM, I have yet to find another one like mine (in a 700 short action).

Correct, careful what you ask for unless your working for Feds or AZGFD. If someone did catch one in a cage trap, you would need to set it free asap

Sounds to me they may be hot loads if your seeing the ejector on the brass. What's your speeds? I would compare that to the Manuel.
