Biggest question!!!! Does the 06 have a muzzle break? If not I would go the 243 route. My 10 year old shoots my 06 with a break all day long. Without it, it's gonna kick like a mule. If you have him try the 06 first he might create a fear in pulling the trigger causing bad shot placement. Just my 2 cents!

Bump it for a nice rifle, I shot my 7mm Mesa for the first time the other day and it shoots lights out on the first test load. They definitely make a great rifle.

Kee kee call (young turkey). If you see a flock, you can try to run at them and break them up and call. I had a buddy we called Bird Dog because he had long legs and could run fast. They will come back to regroup. Sitting water with lots of tracks.

Yes there is a actual typo online or somewhere azgf put out, but also says to check regs to make sure your unit is open.

The tag number is already assigned/generated to you in your app, just can't see it until you activate it when you down your animal. Used it on my boys turkey hunt this year. It ask a bunch of survey questions as well before it lets you see the tag number if i remember correctly. I also wouldn't be surprised if it logged your GPS coordinates as well.
