I agree coues79, I was off the road yesterday about 4 miles back in and had Bulls screaming all around me. I had a coyote varmint call open reed with me so I tried my best to do a cow call. I called in 2 bulls, the second one was a very nice bull about 360ish. I got it all on film to, pretty saweet!

Thanks Jim for the info, around greens peak is where I am planning on hunting. If everything looks good with work I'll be leaving tonight to hunt tomorrow morning. I'm getting pumped to go! -

Thanks guys, I was in the area of the mesa office so I stopped in and the gentleman at the desk said is no longer a requirement to have a stamp, just patience and a valid hunting license. I also called the Carefree and Pinetop offices and they also said just a valid hunting license no stamp required. I'm just getting done pattering my 410 and I am having mixed feelings about taking it now. Looks like I'll be taking the SBE II 12 gauge. Might just bring both and decide next week when I get there? Undecided -

Thanks again Lark for all your knowledge, very much appreciated. I am going to go get that stamp today to make sure I have it. It looks like they introduced them in unit 5 and 4 and were protected for 5 years until 2013 the 5 years were up. Sounds like they are easy to kill once you find one? That's the tough part finding them :-). I read somewhere last night their range is like 1-2 acres which is good to know. -

Just found this: These animals are a primary small game species hunted in Arizona. Hunting small game requires only a valid Arizona regular hunting or combination hunting/fishing license. A game bird stamp, which is available free of charge at Game and Fish offices, is required to hunt blue grouse. A U.S. Forest Service Apache-Sitgreaves National Forests map is a handy tool. http://www.wmonline.com/area/gamefish/grouse.htm -
" I do not believe you are doing the right thing by withholding information that may help authorities locate the owner of the bull." The authorities??? What the heck? How will they try to find the owner if they even attempted? Maybe phone call to all tag holders asking them if someone shot a bull and was unable to recover it? Then they could cite them for letting the meat go to waste? Bone777 I'm with you, good job posting this because I know G&F would never try to find the owner, they don't have the resources

Thanks for the info yotebuster. I went out and bought #4's, #5's, and #6's. So I'm thinking maybe going out tomorrow after work to see how they all pattern with this gun. I cut open one of the #4's to see how much shot was in the round and I counted 95 in it (11/16oz), in the #5 counted 115 on a (1/2oz) and #6 shot counted 145 (11/16oz). Ill put a target up 30 yards to see how the all do. This is definitely going to be a 24hr trip from the valley to the spot. I'll take lots of pics, and hopefully get to see some birds taking a dirt nap. -
Sweet man!!!! One day I'll see another when I have my rifle in hand! Looks good
