Good luck getting a hold of the guy in charge of the program to get any questions answered . I tried for a leftover tag last year and he never answered the phone, responded to an email, and his voicemail was full. Randomly called #'s on the website until I found someone who answered my ?'s. Frustrating.

Ill take a stab at it. After a quick (amateur) work up I gave him 382. He looks like an upper class bull to me but what do I know. The length of his main beams was the most conservative measurement and maybe too generous on mass since he's in velvet. Regardless I'd would kill him without hesitation.

Started in 2002. 2006 Archery Bull 2010 Archery Bull My boy started at 10, now 13. He has pulled his 2nd jr cow tag this year and is 3 for 3 on jr deer tags. This was the 5th year straight I put my non-res dad in and he pulled an archery bull tag this year.

Lots of tags so I think multiple plans will be in order. I had 6as archery bull in 2010, a jr cow in 2011, and the archery bull ( my dad ) and jr cow again this year. We're starting to get a good feel for 6a. there are elk north to south, low and high. If you can do the OTC deer, bear, turkey hunt which doubles as a final elk scouting trip. Some real nasty roads in 6a too depending on where you go..

I was charged for my dad's non-res early archery bull but nothin for me or my boy. I called just now and they said they are still charging cards and results 1st week of April.

0 for 6 on deer. 1 for 1 on my pig so I got that goin for me. On a tip from a buddy now sittin water. Cold and windy.

Nothin yesterday. Today found a 22" 3 pt with 7 does, not really pushin but he wouldn't leave em. Found another group of 6 with no buck. Also a single doe. Wind was all over made a try for the 3 2 times but tough being solo in the flats with a swirlin wind.

Welcome to my world. I only seem to have the problem with mulies. The hard part is when you realize for all of your time, money and effort you may only get 1 good chance just to be busted by a wind swirl or a doe. 30 yards this way or that can give you your shot and that just comes down to luck (which with mule deer apparantly I don't have any). Besides the above good tips I would add that some type of padded boot silencer really helps. Higher deer densities or knowing your unit really well helps you get the number of opportunities you need. A helper who stays up on the hill helps a ton too if you have one. Of course good glass on a tripod.

I killed mine yesterday in winds like that just after 9 am. They were feeding on a south slope. Enough wind to make me not want a shot over 30 yards. 22 yard shot, 50 yard recover, 12-15lbs chorizo! I'm actually starting to favor a stiff breeze, doesn't swirl as much and gives some noise cover.

Last night and today chased a nice heavy but crabbed fronts desert 4x4 with 11 does of which at least 1 is hot. Busted at 30 yards by 2 of his does - too many eyes and ears. Killed my first pig yesterday morning so I'm having a good hunt so far. 25 degrees this morning...

Finally found em-almost 2 days without a single deer til tonight. Nice buck pushin does. Took about 35 minutes to sneek in but as usual they had moved on by the time I got there. Hope to find em and put em to bed in the morning.

I didn't get into my area with enough time to do much-45 mins of light left . Its rainin on me now. Freshest sign was a lion track, and a couple deer tracks from the last rain. Plan to get up high and start glassin in the morn.

Awesome how swoll up that buck is. I head out tomorrow.

We had 1 morning on the jr hunt with 4 bucks hanging in the general area of a group of does. 2 started pokin at each other and ended up in an all out brawl for 5 minutes. 1st time we'd seen deer fight - pretty cool. We came close but didn't connect. Other than that bucks were solo other than baby bucks hangin with does. I head back out on the 18th for 4 days to try and fill my 2012 tag.

That's about what I paid for my 2010 bull at westernskulls.com. He uses beetles and it turned out nice.

I got the archery 42 Javi and 6a turkey. My boy got the 42/44a Javi and 6a turkey.
