Awesome bucks. Obviously you know that spot very well. Still hunting mulies is tough! Any tips since you seem to be pretty good at it?

I have the broadside MT cow elk. I'm generally solo but this year I'm the caller for my dad and plan on using it for sure. There was a show on pursuit channel yesterday with the caller using the cow elk butt - seemed to work well as the bulls get to that range where they might hang up cause they expect to see another elk.

Just wanted to say thanks to Kevin and Shane. They went way above and beyond and cleaned up some other issues I had besides the fender. Thx again and also to the others that offered.
-
I need to re-attach the fender to my atv trailer. Welds were cracked slightly and I shook it loose on my last trip up north. Any members or recommended shops in phx area? I'm in the southwest valley. Ryan

Thx for the recomendations. i figured Id rather be safe than sorry so I ordered the case ylclaret recommended AND the bushnell power sync solar mini from amazon a couple days ago. My maps and GPS are run from my phone mostly now so I need the extra battery life.

Anyone use/recommend a portable phone charger? Looking for something that will fit in the pack (light) will get me a couple iPhone charge ups a day while hunting. Cabelas started carrying the goal zero guide plus and Walmart has a couple similar options. Any ideas? Ryan

I found 6" lag bolts point side up in a 2 track to a guzzler on the strip last year. Thought it was a fluke until I found a bunch in a row over a couple days. Pretty messed up considering how far back in there I was by myself.

Yclaret just curious on the story of that bull. Did your buddy have to wade thru a bunch of smaller bulls to have a chance at him or did you guys have him all figured out. Just curious. Thx Ryan

I called and asked today and she said they start mailing tomorrow.

Yeah for the ranger they claim that the whole tank/fuel assembly is required when the pump goes bad - not true.
-
I just had a similar issue with my ranger. After alot of research I figured out it was my fuel pump gone bad. Dealership wanted $500, I bought the part and installed it myself for $130. In my research other potential causes are dirt/ debri in gas tank, clogged fuel screen, pinched gas line or vent line, or exhaust over heating gas causing vapor lock. Mine started sputtering like it wasn't getting gas no matter the incline and had to limp it back to camp. I test drove it last night and it seems to be running good.

Not sure who's complaining, everyone seems pretty stoked to have the tag. I dont speak for anyone but me but I scout alot and I put in for "lesser" units so I can draw more often -I expect more hunting pressure. 6a wasnt my first choice but it was for my dad who's a non res and he pulled it. That said If it turns out to be a zoo even in spots where I thought I could get away from the others well then maybe 6a won't be a first choice. I said earlier that this will be my first hunt in 6a since they combined the sub units so I'm curious how it will turn out. There isnt any other unit that comes near this many tags for archery bull so i think its a legitimate concern. And if the action is so good regardless of pressure maybe we won't care. Either way we have 2 az elk tags, both in 6a, the scouting is going good so far, and we aren't complaining that's for sure.

I'm seeing bulls like yours mostly. If they hang in the same area during the rut ill be countin on the big bulls movin in to take over the cows after they've had enough of the smaller bulls tryin to run the show. Looks like a good spot so far.
-
I've been pokin around 6a all summer but I don't have the tag, my dad does - archery bull. I've been looking into a couple new areas and will have a couple old ones to fall back on if necessary. Some are remote and some where the pressure will likely be higher. I'm concerned about the number of tags. Although on my 6as tag in 2010 I chased the biggest bull I saw on the hunt right thru multiple camps off a major FS road. First hunt for me since the sub units were combined. Depending on how it goes it will dictate whether I try for it again in the future. Edit: as far as elk seen...on cam some spots are showing cows only but only 2 also have bulls as of last week. Mostly sub 300 bulls, a couple that go a little higher and 1 definate shooter. The spot I'm leaning towards has good signs of rut activity from last year. I'll be up the week before to finalize.

I chose Vegas last year. Figured it would be a better/safer route from phx if somethin went wrong on the way up. More traffic and resources on the way to vegas vs Flag to Fredonia.

No chance of snow on the archery hunt.

No I didn't kill but had my chances. It was a tough hunt. I crunched the numbers for me to scout myself vs the package and very quickly realized the package was worth it and the intel I could gain vs Matt wouldn't compare. I would do it again.
