Here's the video of the 2014 44AE bighorn hunt guided by AZ Desert Outfitters that I was lucky enough to be a part of. The hunter, Dale, had put off potential back surgery for this hunt and made the most of his first stalk. There wasn't much time for video and what we got was a little shaky but the story of the hunt is in the video.

(Never posted a vid so not sure if this will work) This is from the evening of 7/8/15. Cows were very vocal and a couple bulls bugling to my surprise. Video is for audio only (iPhone), no elk to see just to hear. Might have to turn it up a bit. http://i1160.photobucket.com/albums/q487/rghan1/Mobile%20Uploads/th_trim.7301CCC4-A7D2-4F84-B958-C3D44E35E9E0.mp4

I called Coconino and was left a voicemail from an enforcement supervisor stating camping is allowed on any legally open road but your vehicle must be parked within 30' of the road unless it's highlighted in yellow then you can park your vehicle up to 300' from the road. Your actual camp can be as far from the road as you want, the restriction is for vehicles only.

Overall it just seems like a poorly planned, poorly executed, poorly enforced govt regulation that most people don't know about or are willing to risk defying because of those reasons. My biggest pet peeve With the TMP IMO inhibits youth outdoor involvement. (Intentional?) Now our young kids have to walk miles just to check a tank for sign that has an established road to it? When we could take a nice ranger ride to 4-5 tanks a day I can now only get my boys to maybe 1-2 a day before they're wore out. After a couple days they're done walkin. Tough situation for those with early (high temp) hunts trying to save meat from spoiling with no vehicle retrieval. 1 positive I saw on my last trip was that even some legal roads are disappearing creating more of a roadless area. Good for those that are willing to walk and hunt a little farther from the road than the next guy.

The cows were definately vocal. I got a quick glimpse of the bull trotting away at 80 yards the next morn and he was a nice 6 pt. The next night we watched a different group of 80 cows/calves feed into a meadow and play around.

Was there a contest for 2014? Maybe I missed it. I have a submission for best non hunting photo that should be a winner.

Not my bull but I helped pack him out. He scored 348 according to the taxi. Pic makes him look a lot bigger I think.

So my grandfathers old mountain goat rug will be delivered to me this week. It's probably 30+ years old and has been folded up in his basement for the last 10. Overall it's in pretty good shape, some minor mice damage to an ear and som droppings in the hair. Looking to get it cleaned up and nice and white again. I've googled how to DIY clean it up but figured I'd ask here for some ideas?

I'll go out on a rusty limb....I'd say #2 is the 350 bull and the other 2 are less in the 315-335 range.

I need an insulated hunting boot for a Nov bull hunt. Not seeing anything like that. Do they update/add products or is this it? -
Camofire.com has a bear authority bow RTK package normally $500 for $250 for the next 50 minutes.

So after 2 bent control arms front and rear I started looking into lift kits for my 07 Polaris Ranger 700 XP. In my research I learned that the kits can cause suspension problems with potential break downs. There is a DIY way to give your rear suspension about 1.5" more clearance simply by changing the top inside rear shock mount to to the outside rear shock mount. Apparently this is beneficial for those that carry heavier loads like hunters and dead animals and will help with bottoming out on rocks. It supposed to make the ride stiffer but u can play with the shock notches for more/less tension. Maybe this is common knowledge but it's something I just learned and did myself in about 20 mins for free. Seems to ride pretty nice. Not sure if newer models come with the optional shock mount location but it's a really easy fix if your having clearance issues. Ryan

Non-adjustable in the front unfortunately unless I'm missing something...

I agree. Thx.

Mine doesn't apper to have a mount option for the front, only the rear. I called a dealership and they confirmed. They'd said a lift kit is the only way to raise the front.

I just called the FS for clarification on the camping rules and kinda went on a little rant to the guy about the TMP... He stated they take comments on the TMP and consider opening roads back up for public use if there is demand. If this is of interest to anyone, emails can be sent to: cwcusumano01@fs.fed.us

Sorry, Travel management plan I.e. all the forest roads the Feds no longer allow access to, camping restrictions, and motorized travel restrictions (even to retrieve downed game). Here's a couple links that effect Coconino County as an example (check the county you hunt): Areas approved for off road elk retrieval. http://www.fs.usda.gov/Internet/FSE_DOCUMENTS/stelprd3817477.pdf Map downloads showing "legal" roads. http://www.fs.usda.gov/detail/coconino/landmanagement/projects/?cid=stelprdb5356224

1 charge for elk so far. Still waiting on 1 more res charge and 1 non res charge. Problem now with 1 charge is waiting to see if it's my archery tag or my boys late rifle bull tag. If u put a youth in for a general tag first choice and a jr tag second choice, they charge the full price for either tag right?

Found this near a wash on my way back to the truck yesterday. Looks like it's been there quite a while.
