WOW - this does provide some important things to think about but all in all my initial and followup reaction to this post is that is kind of morbid.

Video from this years rutting season
SunDevil replied to OpticNerd's topic in Photography of Coues Deer and Other Wildlife
that is a really nice collage. looks like a lot of time in the field to get all that footage and a lot of time editing it. thanks for sharing. -
I think it is unfortunate that the original thread was nuked. Obviously this was a topic that some people felt very strongly about. There are many other topics that share the same polarizing view points (baiting, land access, wildlife management, tag allocation, quality vs opportunity, politics, religion, etc.) We are (hopefully) all mature adults and should be able to discuss these topics without things getting out of control and resulting in threads being nuked. I understand the original post was made as an FYI regarding someone using stands that were not his but were left in the field by other owners. I think it is important to point out some facts around this topic: FACT 1: people should leave things that do not belong to them alone. FACT 2: we live in a world that (unfortunately) if you leave something (bike, car, tree stand, blind, trail camera, etc) out in a public place you are at risk of and taking a chance with that item possibly being tampered with or taken. FACT 3: even though the law is not enforced, it is illegal to leave an item on National Forest and if an item is left, it is considered abandoned property. FACT 4: even though the law is not enforced, it is illegal to alter a tree for the purposes of attaching something to it. If you acknowledge, understand and agree with FACT 2, then some of the responsibility does fall on you, as the owner of the item, in taking the risk of leaving the item out in public in the first place. Please post if you disagree with any of the facts that I have included. I know we all have opinions on what is right, wrong, ethical, unethical, immoral, etc. Feel free to share those opinions if done so in a respectful way.

can we get gearsnagger to put back up the picture of his wife/girlfriend/sister/mother, whichever it was?
-
Location? Sent PM they are currently located out in the field, up in the rim country. BAH HA HA

I think Josh's example in the attached link is the most helpful and should clear up your question.

yep - if all you are looking for is an action, I would try a pawn shop. plenty of beat up guns for sell at pawn shops. they are also usually willing to wheel and deal. the longer something sits in their shop the better deal they are usually willing to make on it.

congrats! that is definetly a cool buck.

Not how I planned it... But elated with outcome!

Holy cow Ilene - look at the main beams on that buck. I have never seen that much length between a G3 and the end of a main beam before. Nuthin wrong with those firesticks. 385 is impressive for someone who is use to shooting so much closer. congrats and thanks for sharing. glad you had a good time and made it home safely. -
that buck has some nice eyeguards. get back on him!

desertdog, I hear where you're coming from but don't down our CWT members for defending our state of AZ. You're ashamed of everyone of the Cwt members especially sundevil and .270, REALLY? You're right, this dude might just want to get a debate started but we as CWT members have a right to defend ourselves. Yes, don't feed the troll, but don't tell us you are ashamed of us CWT members for standing up to this NM hunter. Just saying! TJ Thanks TJ! probably best not to feed the troll, the DESERTDOGTROLL that is.

nice bull. congrats. are you the same crittergetter from OYOA?
-
that is really too bad. I know that is not how any of the other hunters from AZ that I know hunt. hopefully you are not "lumping us into one group".
-
the 300 wsm I have shoots 2.5 inch groups at 400 yards. took down an oryx in one shot in its tracks at 390 yards.

HOLY CRAP Batman. I sure hope I NEVER get to do that. Good luck with the recovery. They say pain meds and alcohol do not mix but what do they know. also, if one is good two is better. that is what I thought when I got into my wife's valium for some major neck pain relief. woke up 7 hours later. at least you do not need a costume for Halloween next year with that scar.

nice job. I do not think I have the patience to be a very successful archery hunter.
-
Nice buck. Check out how swollen his neck is in that last pic.
-
Nice job! that is some dedication right there. where in CA are you? anywhere near Paso Robles? Congrats and thanks for sharing.
-
Wow - that is an awesome buck. great job. congrats. pretty incredible how wild animals are able to survive wounds like that without antibiotiecs.

Nice job Garrett! That is a really unique buck. did he bust his eye guards off or just not grow any? I didn't think there was any deer left down around Tombstone. Thanks for sharing.
