Things your huntin buddies do that drive you nuts : )
SunDevil replied to twigsnapper's topic in The Campfire
hiked in one morning 1 hr and 15 minutes. get to the hill to get set up and start glassing. one guy is checking his crackberry to see if he has service and the other guy is setting up his tripod and camera to take pictures. seriously? -
Devin - weren't those shot in the same calendar year by a guy down in Sierra Vista? MX drop tine buck was in Jan and then the AZ archery buck was in Dec? Awesome year for him for sure. Great mounts. Thanks for sharing.

2012 Deer Bonus Point Reports
SunDevil replied to Red Rabbit's topic in Rifle hunting for Coues Deer
so everyone was wondering earlier this year about what the draw odds for the new Dec MD hunts were going to be. based on the report, you needed the following points to get into the 20% bogus point pass: Unit 7 = 9 pts Unit 17A/B = 12 pts Unit 23 = 10 pts Unit 27 = 8 pts -
thanks for sharing sneek. what do you think, roughly, the biggest bull in the bachelor group at the 25 second mark (or your 2nd picture) would score? what do you think the bull in your 1st picture would score?

Yea, I'm a die hard/real fan. I didn't go to school there let alone graduate from there but I know where the campus is because I drive by it when I am delivering pizzas. Yea, I'm a die hard/real fan. I never buy any tickets to see them play in person but I watch some of their games on tv. You know tickets are expensive and tips haven't been all that good. Yea, I'm a die hard/real fan. I don't work there but I wear shirts and hats that were given to me as Christmas and Birthday presents. Yea, I'm a die hard/real fan. We (well they) won the National Championship in baseball this year but I never went to any games (see ticket expense above) and I can't name any of the players on the team. Yea, I'm a die hard/real fan. I rioted in 1997 when they won the National Championship in basketball but I didn't pick them in my bracket to win it all. Nope, you guessed it. I did not have them going to the Final 4 in my 2011 bracket either. Man, I can't believe it. I could have won some real money if I could have just got all those 1st and 2nd round upsets out of my memory. Yea, I'm a die hard/real fan. Rose Bowl, what's that? I think it is something my wife uses to plant her flowers in. Yea, I'm a die hard/real fan. I did get to go to one game. Someone gave me a ticket to the OR football game a couple years ago. We rushed the field in the 4th qtr. Oh wait, we (they) lost that game and I got to spend the night in jail for hitting an OR cheerleader in the head with a bottle of water. BUT YEA, HECK YEA, I'M A DIE HARD/REAL FAN!!! NOGALES NORTH ALL THE WAY BABY!!!

right at the top of the page it says: PLEASE MAIL TO: Arizona Game & Fish Att: Draw/First Come 5000 W. Carefree Highway Phoenix, AZ. 85086
-
nope - those go to a PO Box they use for the draw. leftovers go right to their main office. address is on the top of the page that has all the leftover info on it.
-
make sure you mail to 5000 W Carefree Highway

the last time we hunted 36c was 2.5 years ago. we saw a lot of illegals. enjoyed having border patrol circle our camp at night in a helicopter. tripped multiple sensors and had border patrol dispactched on us multiple times (on foot and by helicopter), had border patrol haul through our camp in the middle of night in hot pursuit. might be different now but that is what it was like in 2009.

or the new 12X50 swaros
-
there usually is a boarder patrol check point on the highway right there close to the elk horn
-
also, shade is your friend. lots of deer in the shade and it is a lot more comfortable and enjoyable glassing for deer when you are sitting in it. finally, you can't find deer in your binoculars with your eyes closed.

Looking for help with a GREAT problem
SunDevil replied to mtn-memories's topic in Rifle hunting for Coues Deer
have both of them pegged a couple of weeks before the hunts start. follow up with finding your coues the weekend before and your elk a day or two before. get your elk opening day and then go after the coues. -
best advice I have for you (and yes it is accurate) is to watch the times on your gps that says is best for animal movement.

next project/training exercise = cleaning the cat litter box!

check the hunter success rates for MD for that unit for the last 3 - 4 years and you should find your answer.

San Juan Capistrano? I was just in your neck of the woods. We were at our condo down by Doheny from Jul 8 - 15. Cloudy and foggy for most of our stay. Met a guy on the beach that lives there now but grew up in Kearny AZ.
-
how much has it been shot? how does it shoot? how about a Ruger M77 7mm Rem mag and some cash in trade?
-
call some pawn shops. that will be your chance at your best deal. either that or hit a gun show.
-
Because many of the FS are anti-hunter, and even more don't like to see "abandoned" property left on trees in the forest. It happens more than you think. every time they find one they probably think "$$$ BONUS $$$"

do you know or can you measure what the length of pull is?
