Here’s my uncles 4X4 UT mule deer and the story that goes with it. my grandpa absolutely loved to hunt deer. Lots of great stories. The barrel of his lever action 32 was a “smooth bore” by the time he hung it up for good.

Yes. My grandpa shot the big buck but he let my uncle pose with it in the picture. Then my uncle just shot a nice 4X4 last week in UT. I have the antlers from my grandpas big bucks hanging in my house today

I spent 10 summers in Ak. Our home base was Kenai. My dad figured there was always someplace with good fishing within an hour drive of Kenai.

4 bucks from different states/nations in a single calendar year is a great accomplishment regardless of scores -

I would speculate this has been done before. Really just comes down to time and money. 4 boomers would come down to more time and more money. Getting drawn for the Rez would probably be the most difficult part of it A 95 average for 4 bucks in one year from 4 different states/nations would be a pretty cool accomplishment -

Wow. 4 year old post! -
Hey. Just sharing my opinion on this. Unfortunately vintage fishing gear does not equal valuable fishing gear. Technology in fishing gear is almost like electronics. It is both baffling and amazing to me. There is very, very little of it that is collectible/valuable. The rest is just nice to look at and talk about because the stuff today, lures, reels etc are so much more effective. I have plenty of brand/like new, vintage stuff that i have not been able to sell. Good luck with the sale.

One also needs to consider and be prepared for the emotions a young child will have after killing their first big game animal. I was lucky. I was kind of stressing it and my daughter walked right up, grabbed the antlers and said let’s take some pictures! Completely Shocked me.

What are the 3 scores right now? (Not that it matters) why do you say B&C is smoke and mirrors? I never heard anyone say the Rez was better than MX for coues deer hunting -

I agree, I would find another caliber with a milder recoil, with a brake, with a recoil pad and use reduced recoil loads. Recoil fear is real and will take time to get over.

The claw is a very handy tool. Just make sure to mount it in the middle of the rifle where the center of gravity is. my goal was to get my daughter within 200 yards. An inexperienced shooter is not going to go out and shoot sub moa without a lot of practice, even from a bench rest at 100 yards. Paper plate, yes but not sub moa. Paper plate at 200 yards is a dead deer my daughters first two deer were 160 yards and 140 yards. These deer were glassed up at 1000+ yards. Stalking to get close was an extremely fun, enjoyable and memorable part of the hunt. Getting that close made the shooting part easy
