so he shot the first buck for his buddy and his buddy let the cat out of the bag?

UPDATED ODDS 24 - 14 or 66 - 65

to be more specific, I was checking the zero on two rifles prior to a hunt. I was shooting into the afternoon sun. the Zeiss scope was clear. The Nikon scope was "cloudy" from looking into the setting sun. Most of the time this would not be an issue but if it had been a big buck at 400 yards I probably would not have been able to locate the target and get a shot off with the Nikon scope
-
upper end rifle scopes are not as good as Zeiss. I have both and for the money I would go with Zeiss over Nikon.

what grain bullet are you shooting in it? is your 1/2 inch groups using hand loads or factory loads? if factory, what ammo? Thanks
-
7mm-08 mainly because there are lots of factory ammo options including a hornady reduced recoil. also higher grained bullets for elk.

nice bucks! hunting private property is a great experience. "ruined some meat but got the job done" = just a slight understatement

GOOD LUCK!!!
