Technically you are no longer a resident. You have to have a residence in AZ for 6 months immediately proceeding your submital of your application. From what I understand, you are not effected by th 10% non- resident rule, but you still have to pay non-resident fees.

"Spirit towers", I've never heard them called that before... Heck, if I called them that, I would assume they are all made by dirty hippy leaf lickers too and nocked them over. I've always called them Rock Cairns and figured they were a better alternative to blazing trees. Personally, if they were on a marked trail, i would leave them alone; however, if they are someones attempt to create a new trail nock away. Either way, 300 within a 1/2 mile is excessive.

That is how the laws work and the courts were right. I am not talking about you buy 100 acres and build a road to your land and continue out the back of the property ... I am talking roads that have long been there and used by many generations getting gates locked keeping people from accessing.... Right of way and easements do not change ( without courts) if someone buys a ranch that is 150 years old 5 years ago and the previous owners gave ingress and egress to public land the right of ingress and egress is expressed and would be upheld in the courts. Again we are talking roads that have given access for many years not private drives ( well some have become that) The courts found a tiny loophole and exploited it to the benefit of the legal system. They were not right, however, they did prevail.Even our attorney told us we got screwed by the court. I am not a sore loser by any means, but the law is not always right. The roads in this area where built by owners of private property, on private property, they were not built by the county, or maintained by the county. I agree that locking gates that has been public access may be wrong, but in some cases, maybe not entirely illegal? There have been many battles over the years of ranchers and landowners locking gates when many they did not have the right to do so. Look at the big fiasco up in Aravaipa canyon? If someone recently purchased a ranch where the previous owner had granted access in the past, the new owner would be well within their legal rights to deny access if it was not a recorded easement. However, allowing public access over time probably creates an access precedent in the eyes of the law, just as it did for us. Like you said, easements and access would have to be researched. Fortunately, I do not have to worry about access where I hunt. But in the past I have found locked gates on forest land that were put there by forest service people, or maybe other hunters, as it was in a very remote place.? If the adjacent property owner's property would have become landlock after you locked your gate, they can file a suit for an easment. This is done fairly offen and they would of won either way. If they were not landlocked then they probably won by the loophole. "If someone recently purchased a ranch where the previous owner had granted access in the past, the new owner would be well within their legal rights to deny access if it was not a recorded easement. However, allowing public access over time probably creates an access precedent in the eyes of the law, just as it did for us." In this case, I would think they could file for a perscriptive easement. The question is , who is going to file for it?

The real issue and the one that mitigates any money that is raised by this program, is the power that AZSFW would gain. All of the other animal specific groups would become powerless to argue against AZSFW if they had different views. For example, if AZSFW decided that they would like to see landowner tags in Arizona all of the other groups would have to follow, or at least keep their affiliation with Azsfw. Their risk would be loosing their auction or raffle tags. Please remember that these groups are only as good as their board members and without you knowing it they can change course. this is the reason why I will never become a life time member of any of them. Another question I have is what was the name of the group that backed the changes to the tresspass law a couple years ago? This was the law that attached your hunting rights to any tresspass violation and and designated red posts as legal posting?

Camerland had some refurbished or demo models they were selling last month. Check and see what they have.

Make sure you us your chrono in the middle of the day when the sun is in the highest position. I used mine in the evening and found the velocities fall off as the sun goes down. Another thing is to set it out at 50 feet and see what the velocities are. This should take all the muzzle blast out of the equation. If you still feel you would like more velocity, try another powder an to a lesser extent the adjust the seating depth.

How do you think these bucks will measure out? Also, how old do you think they are and would you hold off for another year? Does anyone have pictures of a mature buck right before and after they lose their velvet? I'm trying to see if a buck I'm watching has much more to grow. Thanks,

My guess is that if he hit the bull up in the hump area and it didn't hit the spine, the bull probably lived. Would it be possible to be more specific on where the bull was hit?

Did you ever check with game and fish to see if they picked up the antlers? When I see a sign posted on a tank saying a hunter is present, I don't believe it until I see the actual hunter. If you are in the blind and have a hunter coming into the tank let him know your there, stand up, whistle or something. If your using a ground blind don't leave your crap in expecting it to hold your place. First one to the tank gets it. If you leave for anything, it's up for grabs. I spent three hours building a ground blind onetime and came back the next afternoon to find another hunter in it. I waved and went on my way.

Can you carry bear spray on an airplane? I guess we will find out.

First thing is to make sure that you tighten the action screws correctly. This made a huge difference with my rifle. Then check the crown and the bedding. The Montanas are bedded with a slave action, so the bedding is poor at best. If you want to switch out the rings and bases, which I don't blame you, look at the Warne set. Also note that since this rifle is so light, it's vey sensitive to how you hold it from shot to shot. A trigger job will help with this as well.

I still haven't received some shotgun parts that I order years ago... it wasn't even worth going back to get a refund.

I just emailed you a differnt email address.

If you don't mind, can you send me some info? Thanks,

Lapping your rings more or less means that you use a sanding compound (lapping compound) along with a steel bar, the size of your scope tube to sand down any high spots or any spots that are not inline with the scope. Here is a youtube link that shows the lapping of the rings. What kind of rings and bases are you using?
-
I would check you rings and bases and make sure they are tight and straight and possibly lap your rings to make sure that you don't have any uneven presure on the scope. 2nd I would check to see if you have any pressure points on the barrel from the stock. have the stock bedded and use the correct torq and procedure when tightening the screws. If that doesn't work, I would look at your scope.

I prefer not to pay more than the minimum deposit until delivery. Note that this is for everything, not just taxidermy.

Yes, but they do it diffrently... They allocate 20% of all the tags, from all the sheep units combined and assign them to applicants with max bonus points. That being said, you could be putting in for a hunt that won't have any tags available by the time it reaches the first and second choice round.
-
It would probably be a nice feature to have as a backup on your bow incase you don't have time to use a laser. You can make your own temporarly... Just place a piece of tape on a flat spot close to your site and while looking through your peep mark where 16" falls at 10, 20, 30 and 40 yards. If you like it then purchase their version with the fiber optics.

Is it possible for someone to post the hunt numbers? No one that I know is able to download the regulations. Turkey 0286 Deer 1108
