It appears that the B.C. from my ballistic program i are incorrect. You are correct in saying the 6.5 -284 is a great long range round, it's just not my ideal extreme long range deer hunting or long range elk hunting cartridge. I thing something in 7mm SAUM, 7mm wsm or the 7mm rem mag would be a better choice when you balance all the factors.

This isn't really a fair statement. For example, take your 6.5mm 140 grain A-Max (B.C. .550 G1) and put it up against the 180 grain A-Max (B.C .580 G1) in a 300 WM you will see that they have similar muzzle verlocities but with the slightly higher B.C the 300 WM is acutally flatter shooting, has less wind and has more energy at 1,000.

I think antler restrictions would promote bad genetics alon with what was said earlier about putting the pressure on the two and three year old bucks. Infancy, if you want larger bucks, you should have a spike/ fork season.
