I've reread this 3 times and think I almost have it figured out, maybe if you clarified a bit more folks would chime in. -
robin hoods are cool, double robin hoods are even cooler. my brother did this last year at 30yards, sorry for the crappy pic

That is my personal favorite, very friendly for uploading/downloading data, (maps, custom polygons, landownership, etc..) when combined with DNRgarmin,Expert GPS, or QGIS software. battery life is great and it is a lot faster acquiring satellites than the map60.

Thanks again AG&F

Its sad to read the negativity directed at Kirby as he has single-handedly done more to improve Montezuma quail populations than anyone in the last 20 years (in my opinion). Hunter impacts on populations have been studied/published a great deal, If you look into the findings a bit I think you'll find that your over-reacting to think that one article in gun dog is going to impact quail numbers and your daily success. -
I would love to see a big buck as well as some does and smallbucks tagged with trackers and see during a year period what there patterns are. I bet it would be pretty interesting. Similar studies have been done all over the country (including AZ) but usually they are not targeted at viable hunting populations with study objectives being strictly biological/ecologically driven. If you can track down a funding source, ill carry it out

A Hunter's Guide to Dusky Grouse
dsturla replied to fredb's topic in Small Game, Upland Bird, and Waterfowl Hunting
nice job Fred, i like how you explained the sage use, never could figure that one out. Heat, Blue Grouse split into 2 species close to 10 years ago, Dusky and Sooty now. -
I'm glad i have no idea what ya'll are talking about. I've backpacked every deer hunt I've been on and only ran into a handful of folks in the past 20 years. good luck to everyone trying to stay ahead of the Joneses!

They (more than one bot fly species) can parasite on all mammals, other than ungulates and bovine, I've seen them first hand in Leporidae. nasty buggers!
