Figured I'd share my super simple dove recipe in honor of today's opener: Ingredients: Dove Breasts Milk Hot Sauce Salt Pepper Place dove breasts in zip-loc bag, add milk (enough to cover but not drench the breasts), tabasco or other hot sauce with discretion, salt, and pepper. Seal the bag and let it marinate in the fridge for as long as you like. Remove the breasts from the bag (you can pat them dry or let them or air dry them but I never do) and place them on a foil covered oven sheet. Bake at 350 for approximately 20 minutes. You may choose to cover the breasts with foil as well...dried out birds aren't the best table fare. Serve and enjoy. I've also wrapped bacon around each breast prior to placing them in the oven with this marinade. That's a tasty way to go too.

Is this about the shootout on the west side of the Galiuro's between lawmen and a family with boys who didn't go to WWI?

Bump for a good bow that is accurate and reliable.

Recently I decided to increase my draw length a little bit and subsequently all of my Gold Tips are too short. Total length on the shafts is 25.5". I shot a 27" DL and they were perfect and came it at around 345 grain with a 100 grain head. I have 30 total 5575 Gold Tip arrows for sale. 23 are XT Hunters and 7 are Expedition Hunters. Most of the arrows are fletched with 2" Blazers, a few have 2" AAE shield cut style vanes. A dozen of the XTs have barely been shot at all, some of the others probably were never shot, and the Expeditions are pretty banged up. Anyway, cheap arrows for someone's kid or for someone who wants to have arrows to donate at the next 3D smoker round or long distance shoot. SOLD!!!!

+1 Don't forget a case lube pad...I have found Redding's Imperial Wax to be the best for case prep/lube prior to sizing.

Here is a good deal for the southpaw archer...I have a used 7 .19 pin Montana Black Gold Super 7 site for sale. It is used condition and has a few scratches/dings. Maybe it is just my eyes, but the third pin (yellow) may have had the tip broken at some point, it looks closer to .10 than .19. Either way, it has no effect on function. SOLD! These retail for $150...check 'em out reviews at Cabelas: http://www.cabelas.com/product/Hunting/Arc...71180|103860180 Thanks for looking.

I own two Tikka T3s: a .270 that shoots sub MOA with 130 grain Ballistic Tips and a .300WSM that used to...until I started loading Berger VLDs Back to the drawing board on that one. I have the triggers adjusted down as far as they will go per the manual (which states 2.5# but on my buddy's pull scale it is more like 3.5#). This year's hunt magnified the need for a better trigger in my .300 WSM. Out of the box it is a great trigger, but I'd prefer one that was a little bit lighter. Anybody played with theirs or had the stock trigger replaced?
-
Interesting, many said they need to be longer than suggested COAL...well into the lands to be effective. Either way, in 100 loaded rounds at several case lengths with several powders I never got them to shoot really lights out. My zero is at 200 yards and just under 2" was the best group I could shoot with 168 VLDs pushed behind W760. Can't remember the exact charge/case length but either way it wasn't that impressive...and that was the best of the best. I will probably go back to 150 gr. Ballistic Tips and IMR 4064...I got consistent 1" groups at 200 with that load before I switched to Bergers. I wanted to get away from the BT's because of their destructive nature on meat, but after seeing the deer we harvested with Bergers this year I'd have to say they are just as brutal. Then again, dead is dead...

Thanks. It is hard to find. Also, you said you torqued yours in, mine is a left handed action and the manual says to torque it counter clockwise, which would be "out." I'll keep playing with it....since counter-clockwise isn't lowering it maybe the opposite direction will.

Did you do that via the set screw behind the magazine well? Or did you pull the action from the stock?

Best Offroad/ Hyway tires for Coues Country
Siwash replied to Santana Outdoors's topic in Other Hunting Gear
For what you are describing (70% pavement/30% off-road) take a look at the Michelin AT2. The the tread pattern isn't aggressive (if you need a serious mudder tire this isn't it) but I have taken my Tacoma to heck and back from Sonora to Seattle and haven't seen a flat in 30k miles...right now the tread pattern is at about 50%. I had the older Michelin AT's on my F-150 and same deal: all over AZ backcountry, never had a flat in 50K miles and when I sold the truck the buyer asked me if the tires were NEW. -
Pm'd you Brent...let's touch base after my hunt

SOLD. Up For Sale: A 1994 Darton Scout Compound bow, right hand, 24-27" DL, 35-35# limbs, pink nail polish camo looks good! The bow has steel cables and the string is in decent shape. Comes with custom brown/pink sling, Golden Key Stabilizer, 3 pin site, and a TM hunter style 2 prong rest. Got it for an old gf and she never shot it. It had a whisker bisquit but I traded to a friend to help him out for the two prong rest, so the rest needs to be set-up. Other than that it is good to go. It isn't tied in but I have a peep I can throw in too. $90 in Tucson.

Somebody needs this.

You will be fine, there are always several camps in that area. It seems like the majority of the smuggler traffic is on the west side of the mountains. Border Patrol has really stepped up their presence in that area in the last year too.
-
Sounds like a sweet shoot. Did you guys contact Desert Archers? They have a 3D at the Tucson Mt. Park that weekend too.

Coueskiller--- I am selling the Women's Darton linked in the second post of this thread. I will be in Sedona this weekend...if you are interested in it for her let me know and I can bring it up. I'll be in Flag at some point over the weekend.

I have a practically brand new Left Hand Rip Cord Code Red drop-away rest I would like to sell. It has been on my Hoyt for less than 50 shots. I think I prefer a Trophy Taker...$65.

If you want a coues/lion/bear/elk bullet try the Nosler Accubond 140grain. I'm pretty sure Winchester sells it if you don't reload.

Byron makes a great string. He uses 452x and can be reached at 520 730 1618.

Traded to CWT Member "Dirt" for some .243 SSTs. Thanks again man!
