Well, with only five bonus points, I drew a 19A muzzleloader antelope permit. Below is a photo of the buck I took on opening morning at 164 yards. We looked at over 50 bucks prior to the hunt, and while not the biggest, he had something that I don't have on the wall and the rest is history. We saw all 27 of the 15 hunters on our hunt. The AZGFD has done a fabulous job of managing this herd to provide lots of animals. The trophy quality is not what it was 5-10 years ago, but as far as quantity, there is no other unit in the state that touchs 19A. Good luck in the field!! rombogoat2.bmp

We had a good weekend up in 24A this past weekend. Here are some photos... Big bear in the first photo was taken with a predator call right at first light on opening morning (greens right at 21"). The second bear was taken in the pears opening morning, as was the third (on day four)... All three were boars! Pears were really good this year! Unfortunately, the sow quota was met, so looks like next year!! Enjoy the photos!

Not a bowhunter, but for all you "male" hunters out there!

Zebu Cow blind works really well. We killed three goats with muzzleloaders last year with Zebu and have shot alot of rifle goats in the past with it... You can literally walk right up to 50 yards or less in most cases. I will be using it on my hunt in 19A next weekend and will post photos. Word has it there are some good bucks in this unit.... Seems some good friends of mine have taken some dandys over the past few seasons! Hike far and glass hard and the hunt gods will become your good friends in this unit, the best in AZ.... Hunt hard my friends!

Started the stand in the dark and the bear showed up on the run at about the one hour mark of calling. Shot was cross canyon at 300 yards and culminated with a spectacular swan dive off of a cliff to the bottom of the canyon below....then the work began!

Me and the boys will be having a reckoning with BooBoo this weekend! Good luck to all!

This hunt is fabulous the last 10 days of the hunt. Try Tater Ridge, Dog Point, Telephone Hill, and Saddle Mtn... All on the East Side....Follow the snow line and it should be money.... Two words, Tater Ridge.

Just got back from three days in Unit 1. Birds are going absolutely nuts in several pockets in the unit. We had birds gobbling till 9 am all three days, and again in the evening from 5 pm on...Still henned up, but that should change in the next week... We hunted high (8500+). Fishing at Big Lake was AWESOME, as was the West Fork... Shoot em in the head!!
