$20,000 auction tag. seller has name rec(?) but zero feedback
Rombo replied to biglakejake's topic in Bighorn Sheep Hunting
Raul and Sonoran Darkhorn are a class act and Raul does alot with conservation groups to support what we love to do... It appears this hunt is benefiting the NRA. The Tiburon Island hunts with Raul are $90K hunts and Raul's guides are the best in the business and if you were smart you would rally the troops and bid on this awesome opportunity. -
Unit 1 Terry Flat is the word in Alpine. What a TOAD!! Congrats boys!!

Wayne Carlton Herd Bull (Brown). No better call in the world... Same call used to be marketed by Perfection Turkey Calls as the 3D Omega. Lots of elk and dozens of turkeys have hit the ground in my presence with this call!

Sounds like 23S is closed on Wednesday! I have heard of five sows hitting the ground... We killed one on Saturday night and it was a great hunt... Glassed 18 bears in two days!! This past weekend was the time to be out this season! Congrats on your nice bear

He kills awesome deer every year on the kaibab....Would be money well spent hunting with him!!
-
I agree with several of the posts above.... 33 is a terrible unit and I would definitely look to a left-over in the 36's..... That muzzleloader hunt in 33 is way over-rated!

Pete killed a 408" last August..... He does not have the permit this year

I drew the new 33 Muzzleloader in November, along with 8 others in the crew.....

San Carlos coues archery hunt
Rombo replied to zwolfemercer's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
I love unit D San Carlos..... If you decide to hunt D, put on a backpack and drop off at the radio tower and head into the canyons of Ash Creek.... Very bluffy country and phenomenal for stalking the Coues Deer that live there. This is where Chuck killed his former world record. I have killed around ten swine in Ash Creek back in the day with the stick and string, and one dandy WT with a rifle... Can't go wrong with this hunt! -
Wifey drew Unit 9 September Rifle Bull, and I drew the Oct 5 limited op rifle bull in the 17a-20C hunt. Then with Dad for the Oct 12 muzzy bull tag on Camp Navajo.

Congrats Tony! If anyone deserves it, you do!! I drew the new 33 Muzzleloader tag! Thanks for the new opportunity Martin!

I have lots of muzzleloaders, but really like the Thompson Center Omega 50 caliber for the price. I have matched it with the Shockey Leopold Ultimate Slam scope and you are good to go for up to 300 yards.... Have already taken four antelope in 19A, and seven Mule Deer in the 35's, and several elk with this combination, and it has worked like a charm.

Great job Lance.... That mine shaft exploration should be left for little Nickie!!!

Nice bear Keith! Good work on the booboos!!

I just returned from a weekend in 12A. Turkey hunting is nothing like what it was when I used to hunt there in the 80's and early 90's. Back then the camp would always limit. This weekend, hunting was a little tougher. I hunted the eastside and took a great bird on Friday morning. Gobbled only once, but that was enough. Wind blew all day Friday and Saturday, but we were able to get our second bird to gobble Friday night and he covered 350 yards in five minutes to his demise. Other two groups of hunters in our camp only saw one hen each, both hunting the westside. Birds are very tough to find this year, but stick to the areas with perenial water!! Gobble Gobble!

I will be up in 12A this Thursday through Sunday. I will give you a report when I return.

There is a very strong population unit wide on top of the Kaibab Plateau. Follow the snow line and you will do well. I am a big fan of the eastside and have killed lots of birds from Telephone Hill south to Saddle Mtn. Don't overlook Tater Ridge and Dog Point, and just stay with the melting snow line as it climbs...
