I think that's a solid guess since the due date was a day earlier this year. Plus I bet they would like to get it done on friday before the weekend hits so we don't clog the lines during business hours. The 17th it is. No more posts in here unitl then. Thank you very much, lets all get some sleep.

I heard my neighbor through the fence that is bosses ex-college roommate's grandson's dog's groomer fell in love with this Brazillian guy and He said it's gonna be on the 21st, sometime after 10:34 in the am. I'll keep my fingers crossed.

It definately depends on you budget. I would agree with the above post that the Covert II's seem to be getting a lot of buzz, but they will set you back about $225 a pop. If you can afford that for a single cam then I would do that. If you are just starting out with cams and are on a budget, then I have read over and over and over again that the Moultrie D-40's are the way to go. If you are patient and watch Amazon.com these cams will dip to 80 bucks shipped to your door.

Actually we are in a stage of harsh deflation. Our dollar should be buying more, yet fees and taxes continue to increase. I Bonds are yielding a whopping 0% right now because of it.

So I went out today to set up a Cam on some Deer CoCaine (I heard it was pretty good stuff). It's my first time setting up a cam and have no idea what I am doing, so I was hoping to get some feedback. Anyways I had a spot picked out that I wanted to set the cam and ended up busting a doe not 40 yards from where I set up. I walked about 20 more yards and found this Shed. Seemed to be active spot so I decided to set up right there. Anyways, Let me know what you think Thanks

I would have to say.... there is no way that is gonna happen next year. I wouldn't lose sleep over it.

No link, you just have to find the mag somewhere I guess

It was in the first post of that topic.

I have to say I laughed out loud when I saw "THE MAP" just now. I am still laughing. Don't tell me that is really what got everybody worked up. I think we should also lynch Orozco for telling everyone his buck came out of 34A.

Yeah, 12% of tags go to non-residents that sign up with an outfitter. Otherwise you are put in the general non-resident pool where only 10% of the tags are allocated. So, 22% of available tags go to NR.

This is a great idea for another contest. Maybe next year we can talk Amanda into putting something together. July 21 10:39 am

Geez, I just got home from work and you boys have been busy. I can't say I have read the article nor do I care to. But if NLA said they went over the top without his knowledge, that is just a mistake. I crappy one, but a mistake none-the-less. I don't really think it's apporpriate to hammer him like we have. I'm sure many of us have a little envy of the incredible buck he took and now have an outlet to caste some stones. That's a mistake any of us may have made. heck these kinds of things and this type of info is all over the net. Most of us have probably read Duwane's book and he said it himeself that this unit was a sleeper for monsters. He didn't get super specific on this unit, but in some parts he really does. Should we also bring him down. I personally think his book is out standing and sits under the bible in my house most days. Like someone else said, this will pass and while all the YAY WHOS that wanna Cluster F&$K in that unit looking for the buck that could have been, the rest of us can enjoy less pressure everywhere else. My $.02

I think mine went through on the 14th or 15th

I have never personally glassed this area, but have heard of some nice bucks being taken from the area. Cattle in the winter time are fairly active, so their might be existing salt blocks somewhere, but not too close to where I put mine. I hiked my butt off about 2 miles through some nasty nasty. I imagine it's smack dab in a bedding area as I jumped that whitey about 30-40 yards from my cam. Due to the cattle it was really tough deciding if any one trail was strictly a deer trail or cattle. Will they both use the same routes???? I have always wondered that. Anyways there was a super prominent cattle trail about 80 yards up mountain from my cam. Also how long do you guys leave your cams out. I am using some cheapy Moultrie D-40's.

I really appreciate all of the comments. It seems it really comes down to personal preference and experimentation. How long would you guys say it takes for deer to find salt?? Also how long will it last?? I know the answers to these questions can vary drastically, but just looking for an average.

Thanks for the quick pointers. The Camera is facing North as it sits. I thought about puttin the salt between the two trees, but I was thinking that the camera would be too "in your face", so I tried to back off the salt a bit. That was my train of thought anyways, you are right though I probably will get a ton of windy branches. I also packed in a liter of water to pour on the salt. Is this really beneficial? Thanks

My '08 Buck -
I personally think you did just right. It can be a tough thing, but what you did should really make you feel good. I think it's great that it was a female hunter as well, I bet she was pretty high to have a great buck. I think it's great when women get out there and get dirty. You will be blessed with the deer gods this year because of it.

Biggest Waste of Human time and resources known to man
RoughCut posted a topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
Truely, what is WRONG with some people. Do members of PETA truely have no better way to spend their time, energy and resources. What a sad existence these people live. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/31422688/from/ET/ I want you all to use a "Katcha Bug Humane Bug Catcher" next time and release the fly outside. -
I had the 16 tag last year. My folks have a cabin in Reserve, so I hunted around there too. I had never scouted the area, so I had to wing it completely. I can't tell you how many times I was almost stampeded by the elk. I saw about 120 elk 8-10 Coues ( all does) and a pair of muleys (does) in four days. I found a pot-load of muley sheds, but couldn't locate them on the hoof.

July 18th last year.

Duh I should have figured that out.

Congrats everyone, I drew a 22 tag, not expecting much, but love to get out none the less. What is the ML Hunt???
