Can I hunt them??? haha J/K Nice, but I prefer the FOUR legged lions that I can hunt!!

I don't know how to start... First off chewing and smoking is bad!!! Second, smoking does more damage to OTHERS than chewing!!! Third, there are more health risks to your self from smoking than chewing!!! Forth, chewing satisfies better than smoking!! Fifth, Chewing is "So good once it hits you lips" (Movie-Old School...about beer not chewing...works the same) Okay...I have a chew in right now! Although the women don't like it, what is an asthmatic supposed to do in a world full of nicotine addicted people!!! As for hunting and chewing, I believe since an animal with the nose so much better than ours can smell our breath at close distance...chewing does not help the cause!!! I can not hike with one, mainly because it dries my mouth out and it’s harder to breath. But when I am still hunting or glassing I can't help but to have a chew!!! If I find a critter that I want to get closer to, then I spit it out, wash my mouth out, and the stalk is on!! btw, I chew Cope Long Cut....I love snuff, but it is easier to get a pinch of long cut than snuff on day to day basis...or should I say hour to hour basis!!! That’s my .02 cents!

I was bear hunting in 23 on Sunday and had a lion come out of a old mine and walk the mine trail to where I was on a 25ft rock cliff. Then she jumped up the cliff to eye level at 20 yard. A little too close for comfort considering my rifle was 20 ft. away from where I was glassing. So I stood up and ran to my rifle and pack to get my camera and she just watched me for 10 sec. then trotted up the rest of the mountain. I tried to snap of a picture but with the 2.5sec delay on my digital I'm not sure if she is in the shot or behind a bush or what not. Good story btw!!

Nope. But i did see alot of healthy ripe acorns. We couldn't even find a track. Thats so werd the acorns are ripe but no sign of any bears. Now 24A is a different situation tons of bears but no acorns? I think I will wait untill Aug 22. I'm leaving tonight for 23 to find some bears! I'll let you know what we find...hopefully shoot! Were you over in the cherry creek area? -
Need Info on Kaibab deer check in
bearbait replied to EagleEye's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
You can skin it and quarter it and bucher it youself if you want. You just have to check in the skull. At least thats what I had to do 5 years ago. I don't think I needed to have sex organs attached either since deer are identifiable with antlers. There will be sings on the way up to Kaibab around jacobs lake of where the deer check in is. -

Is it normal for Outfitters to know that you got a tag BEFORE you call them??? Seems a little weird to me, but then again I have never had the pleasure of drawn a tag with such magnatude before! -
Is that a building in the upper right corner on the last pic? Where were you? Nice pics! Thanks for posting them!

I hope you have a BIGGER agenda in mind than snakes!!!

It's my understanding that you don't eat yotes...and if you dont use the fur, then leave them for the bears and other critters. Let the circle of life take care of them.

Put me down for a 2XL prairie color!

Sorry, didn't mean to pick my banjo so loud! -
I have confidence in the muzzy 100 grain 4 blades. If things don't go right I know the only thing to blame is the shooter. Having confidence in your equipment is the most important thing. Bob You kind'of nailed it on the head! It all boils down to making a perfect shot! I know my post above shows I hit my pig in the head (which no one should do on purpose!) But you should always use equipment that can account for the worst case scenario when shooting stick and string beacuse there are too many variables that could possibly happen!! In my case with my pig, I was on a ridge with the herd at the base of the vally going up the hill of the next ridge. My brother shoot the first pig and I got on the call and had them all running wlid towards us. My pig was quarting towards me when I shot, but she quickly moved her body down hill as my arrow hit making the arrow to hit her in the face...but caused her to expire in less than a minute! C n S...I have yet to stick a critter bigger than a pig with my 4 blade muzzy's. Hopefully I can let you know after archery bear and deer this year!

Few small bucks and bear

Looks like a decent bear! I found a huge bear last Monday walking thru the junipers that had a little reddish tint on her backside as well. Thanks for sharing! -
I'm guessing Lark would say the same!!!

I might be wrong (have been in the past), but isn't the 2nd pic of some mullies? Black tiped tails and a white butt? The first pic is WT though, right? Also, what elevation is your cam at? My buddy, that I have been helping scout, has a Bull tag in an area with elevation between 4000 and 6500ft. I guess I am secretively asking what unit your in? I'm not asking for your exact spot, but wondering if its the same unit. You can PM me with your answer if you want. Thanks for sharing the pics! -
And what ever happend to the trailcam pic contest...are we doing that or not?

Sorry guys, but I just think you can't beat Muzzys. I shoot 4 blade 100 grain Muzzy's and they fly just like my field points! You never have to worrie about mechanical failure, quartering shots, angled shots or exses noise in the quiver. Not to mention the penitration power they have. I shot my pig last Jan. in the head right below her left eye (she moved positions right as I shot!!) and my arrow went through her skull out her jaw and into her right shoulder and out into the ground. But that's just my $.02!

I know with touching baby birds and the mama wont take them back is supposed to be an old wives tale...so I would assume it would be the same with bigger animals. The mother still know that they are hers and will still tend to them.

bearbait replied to AZP&Y's topic in Non-hunting trip reports
My brother and I are huge Fly fishing guys. My dream would be to go on a trip like the guys do in Trout Bum Diary's! Sounds like you guys pretty much did that but in Alaska. Greart pics and story!
