I'm not positive if this is the right section to post this, but what the heck...Here is a couple pics from my bear hunting trip! Here is a black tail Here is a Gila that was already ran over. Here is a storm moving in. And Tim (coueschasser3) sleeping during the storm!!! Getting worse

Sound like you got a good bunch of friends...even if they were a-holes(which I am sure they are not!), the luck has to rub of in some way, shape or form, like tagging along on a hunt or getting a piece of meat or even getting to hear the stories of their hunts!!! My condolense to you for not drawing, but congrates on the friendships, and good luck to your buddies! I myself, didn't not draw...I did BP for elk (should have done BPs for all)!!! But all I could afford this season is Pigs, which is basicaly shooting fish in a barrle! I may however go OTC on deer for carp, possibly a coues but doubtful.

ME running him over???? Oh NO!!! Thats how we found him. I would never kill one of those monsters! I know you were joking, but I didn't want anyone getting the wrong idea, ya know.

I heard that 4 bears have been harvested in 23 already but the unit is still open, so at least 2 of them must have been males. Did anyone here harvest a bear? If so, lets hear the story and see some pics! Coueschasser3 and I left Sat. night and got to our camp spot at 3am and set up the tent and unloaed the truck. But no time for sleep, so we headed down the road a bit to an old mine trail and hiked it around the mountain passed two old mines and keep going about a 1/4 mile to a rock cliff. So we got up on top of it to glass a huge canyon. Tim (coueschasser3) went down the ledge a bit and to a different vantage point while I stayed on top. The first thing I glassed up was what could have only been a solid black bear, not a rock, not a cave, not a shadow, not a burnt piece of wood...but after watching it from about 2000yards away for a hour and it never ever moved...well, im not sure what it was now, unless it was dead???? So I moved 20 ft behind me and to my left facing the mine trail we just walked to glass closer hill sides and canyons, leaving my pack and rifle 20ft. away!! After about 20min. of glassing I hear a noise, think it was my own feet on the rock shelf, but seconds later I heard it again and pin pointed it out and away from me. So I looked town the mine trail and a huge lion was walking the trail right to me at 150 yards. She seemed to just be casully walking down the train, not tracking out scent. She got all the way to the cliff where I was and could either go down the canyon or up the hill side. She took one leap and jumped up the 25ft hill side at eye level with me now and 20yards away. With me not knowing if she would get any closer I decided it might be a good idea to have my rifle with me, so I stood up and ran to my pack 20ft away. When I stood, thats when she saw me and just watched me for 10 seconds and slowly jogged up the rest of the mountain. Lesson learned!! NEVER HAVE YOU CAMERA AND RIFLE MORE THAN A ARMS LENGTH AWAY!!! 20 minutes later Tim came back up and told him the story. I also pointed out where that bear was, or at least think is a bear. He glassed it up and thought the same thing, but it still hasn't moved. Later on the same mountain side as the bear, Tim glassed up a real old male Coati that was almost completly white. The next day we decided to go to Mt. Ord where we meet 2 guys looking for one of their hounds that they lost on Monday chassing lions, so if anyone goes up there and finds a dog, let either I or Coueschasser3 know and we'll give you the guys number to call. All in all, it was a fun trip!! Here is the pic I TRIED to take, but again, the 2.5sec delay might mean she isn't in the pic at all...anyone see her???

Is that a 2nd cam in the background in the first set of pics? Plus, what is in the last pic, is that a stink pig?

This past season was terrible!!! My brother and I in previous years would limit out within an hour, 2 max. Not last season!!!! But that still wont deter me from getting all jacked up for the next season...I even got my calls hanging on my lamp post right next to my computer so I don't lose my touch!!!

Hey azpackhorse, Do you, or have you considered selling those boxes? I would love to have one, but I never learned how to weld or machine work metal, nor do I have to tools to try!

Trying to get the carcass out the front gate would be a little difficult. Just have your buddy and your self hold up the bear between you like your posing for a picture with a guy in a bear suit! haha

I have only hunted the Bab with OTC archery tags in Sept. It's my understanding that during the rifle season you should hunt off the sides of the Plateau. But during warmer parts of the year like your archery hunt most deer will be on the top of the plateau. And yes, that herd does migrate into and out of Utah. Good luck on your hunt!!

Unit Z is great for ducks too! Don't even have to enter the gates, just be in the parking lot with a cooler of cold ones!!!

I don't know the laws...but it's GOT to be illegal to freeze your account just because he didn't "like" your language!!!!! Not to mention your prego wife!!! I really hope you get this taken care of AND compensated!!!

RINO makes great ones...my family and I all use the the GPS/radio combo! They are the older modles and still work great, but we would like to upgrade to the newest ones....when we can afford them that is!!

I would like to see what the different kinds of Muzzy's would do...I'm betting they would be similar to the wac'ems???

That is a nice bear? How was the coat, what it all black? It looks like the back end has some reddish tint to it, or is that just blood?

I was disturbed to come back from a morning of hunting to find you STILL sleeping with absolutly no thought in mind of going hunting that morning!!!

I dont know man, maybe ya just gotta find the right gal, but the most gorgeous girl I dated, out chewed me! And she wasn't even a Payon girl! Did she have 2 legs with 10 toes, 2 arms with 10 digits, 2 ears, 2 eyes, a nose with 2 nostrils, and 1 mouth.....if so, that werid man!!!! haha
