Does anyone know how the dept allocates the specific tag number that's assigned to an individuals tag? I drew tag no 00015 for a hunt as a NR and assumed I was the 15th tag drawn for that hunt code but looking at the 2013 draw report, that can't be the case. My contact at the dept is on the road and unable to provide specifics so I thought I would query the collective.

I have done paper for years and will continue to do so. Unfortunately, the one guy with 15 or someone with 12 just got knocked back several years in the draw process. This might be a good time to send comments to the Game Dept with regards to how they handle CC rejections. NM calls rejects and perhaps AZ can do the same. I don't have this years reject codes so I don't know the number for CC's specifically but total Elk/Ant rejects was 1,962. If most of those were from cards, the task of calling them could be daunting.

Thanks Amber, always a pleasure. I got your email. I hope the meetings are going well and they're not taking their frustrations out on you. As a non resident, I'm impressed that I have seen a cpl different Game Dept employees taking the time to provide info on this forum. I never mentioned this thread or web site to Amber yet she took the time to sign up and post.

If the Bonus Pass draw report is correct, I couldn't have drawn the 15th tag because there were 46 who drew with more points than I had. I was in the 11 point pool. I have a report that shows all NR tags were drawn in that bonus round so I couldn't have drawn it in the 1-2 pass. I'm not complaining, just trying to make sense of the discrepency.

Looks like they had fun. Guess I'll have to bring a pole when I come down for the Elk hunt. Tell them to leave me a cpl.

Congrats. An internet friend drew that tag also.

The info comes directly from the Game dept.

I'm doing the same thing. I don't see myself ever having more than 5 points again.

1, 3a, 8, 9, 10, 27 early archery haven't had a NR tag drop out of the bonus round the last 4 years, including this year (2013) and both unit 7 hunts had all their NR tags pulled in the bonus round this year also. Only 8 early archery hunts were available to NR in the 1-2 pass for 2013. Unit 27 early archery had an increase of almost 500 resident apps this year; roughly 130 additional NR apps.

An email and less than $50 will get you the names of every person that got an AZ Elk tag whether thru the draw or outside it.

So, somebody is going to hack into the draw computer, not going to download the database and pull SS numbers off it like every other hacker, but they're going to download the entire program, decompile it, rewrite the code, recompile, then upload? amazing

They run thru the draw then charge cards, paying for the tag is a separate entity from the draw process. Without calling and getting the particulars, I would guess they redraw for the unallocated tags as a secondary draw with the remaining applicants still in their previous order. They know where everybody is and just go back and fill out the allocations.

I submit paper, copied and saved to my pc, funds by check, delivered prior to the correction period, then call and make them read back my app as entered in the system.

The Oregon will be fine. Skip the T model and go with the 450 and add the huntinggps maps for your state.

You are an applicant that will have 3 bonus points, used for ranking in the Bonus pass draw. So, you will be in the 3 point pool. For the 1-2 pass draw, you will again get 4 "numbers", keeping only the lowest. This time however, your 3 points doesn't get you preferrence in the 1-2 pass draw, just the 3 numbers plus a number for the current app.

"There is apparently a report available at AZF&G, that the outfitters have access to, that specifically breaks out the nonresident odds. I wish I could get my hands on a copy." There is no report that breaks out res and nr, at the point level, on a per hunt basis (like our Oregon draw report). The report in question is not published for public consumption but breaks out res/nr, by 1st and 2nd choice, showing draw success, on a per hunt basis. It's usefulness is limited to showing the units which did not hit the 10% nr cap. HF and Hunters Trailhead simply state the "minimum" number of points to be in the 20% pass. They have no solid idea at what point level the 10% cap is hit, other than to look for the break in draw success from the web report.

"There were 531 1st and 2nd choice applicants last year for 6a the cow hunt. There is no way of knowing how many were first or second (That i know of) And even if there were there is no way to tell how many of the people that put it as there second choice, drew their first choice." 2011 6a antlerless, archery, 20% Bonus pass draw 91 res 1st choice, 1 issued 535 res 2nd choice, 24 issued 7 res 2nd choice applicants drew 1st choice

EyeShield for your Binoculars
wapitibob replied to CouesWhitetail's topic in CouesWhitetail.com Store
A friend of mine made these 20 years ago. His were a single shield that went completely around both eye pieces. They work well. The Eye Shields will deform if you don't flip them down when in a bino case.
