I just have a quick question about this rifle. A friend of friend of mine has a Remington Game Master 760 pump in a 30.06 cal with a Redhead scope on it. I have not had a chance to see any of it yet but he is wanting to sell it. He has told me it is like new but I will see. I already have two 30.06's and dont need another one other than like always, to just have it. My question is what is this rifle worth?
-
Thanks for the info. She said it comes with a box of ammo and the scope is brand new in the box. Also stated that the rifle has only been taken out shooting twice and looks brand new. I can pick it up for $300 I just don't need another 30.06 so i'm thinkig of buying it to make a couple of bucks on it. The serial numbers will be ran before I buy it.

I will admit I'm not a big fan of Game Cameras. But what a jackwagon...if it is not yours then leave it alone. Like i said in the first sentenance, I dont use them but I also wont mess with anybodys camera that does use them, that is their choice. I would turn his plate into G&F and see what happenes.

Do you still want the meat I have? If not then it is going bye bye on Monday as I need the freezer space.

Enjoy this hilarious story from an old engineer who knew no better than most kids his age. Archery & the Nature of Boys - Author Unknown Around age 10 my dad got me a really cool present . . . One of those little badass compound bow beginner kits. Of course, the first month I went around our place sticking arrows in anything that could get stuck by an arrow. Did you know that a 1955 40 horse Farmall tractor will take 6 rounds before it goes down? Tough sumbich. After a week or two simple targets got boring, so being the 10 yr. old Dukes of Hazard fan that I was, I quickly advanced to taking strips of cut up T-shirt doused in Chainsaw gas tied around the end and was sending flaming arrows all over the place. Cool! Keep in mind that I lived in an area that was 99.999% humidity swampland so there really wasn't any fire danger. I'll put it this way - a set of post hole diggers and a 3ft. Hole and you had yourself a well. Anyway, one summer afternoon, I was shooting flaming arrows into a large rotten oak stump in our backyard. I was making good progress and my aim was honestly quite good, but even the flames weren't quite enough that day. As I was lighting up another arrow I looked over under the carport and saw a shiny brand new can of starting fluid (ether). Yup, my trusty light bulb went off. I grabbed the can and started walking toward the smoking stump, but then thought . . . When I hit the can with the arrow it would probably just spray out in a disappointing manner. I could probably do better. Let's face it . . .. To a 10 yr. Old mouth-breather like myself, the ether really didn't seem like it was going to be all that flammable. So, I went back into the house and got a 1 pound can of pyrodex (black powder for my dad's muzzle loader rifles). Yeah! Now we're talkin'! Back outside, I set the can of ether on the stump and opened up the can of black powder. My intentions were to sprinkle a little bit around the ether can but it all sorta dumped out on me. No biggie...1lb pyrodex and 16oz ether should make a loud pop, kinda like a firecracker you know? I knew you had to pack it tight to make an explosion, so I was still pretty safe . . . Just a cool flash, right? On second thought, screw that. I'm going back in the house for the other can. Yup, I got the second can of pyrodex and dumped it too. OK. Now we're cookin'. I stepped back about 15ft and lit the 2-stroke-gassed-up arrow. I drew the nock to my cheek and took aim. As I released the arrow from my bow I heard a clunk behind me. In a slow motion time frame, I turned to see my dad getting out of the truck... OH S##T! He just got home from work. So help me God it took 10 minutes for that arrow to go from my bow to the can. My dad was walking towards me in slow motion with a WTF look in his eyes. I turned back towards my target just in time to see the arrow pierce the starting fluid can right at the bottom. Bull's eye! . . . Right through the main pile of pyrodex and into the can. WOW! The shock knocked me off my feet. Well, truthfully, I don't know if it was the actual compression wave that threw me back or just a reflex kick-back from 235 frickin' decibels of sound. Honestly, I think I only caught a half a millisecond glimpse of the violence, but I will tell you there was an instant cloud of dust, grass, and bugs all hovering 1ft above the ground as far as I could see. It was like the earth moved 12 inches down and left all the dust, swarms of grasshoppers and spiders, and even a crawfish or two right where they had been sitting. Wow! Amazing! The daylight turned purple. Let me repeat this...THE DAYLIGHT TURNED PURPLE! There was a slow rolling mushroom cloud about that had climbed to about 2000ft above our backyard. There was a big sweet gum tree by the gate going into the pasture. Notice I said "was". That hulk just gave up and fell over. I was on the ground blown completely out of my shoes with my Thundercats T-shirt shredded. My dad was on the other side of the carport having what I can only assume was a Vietnam flashback - ECHO BRAVO CHARLIE, YOUR BRINGIN' EM IN TOO CLOSE!! CEASE FIRE, DAMIT, CEASE FIRE!!!!! I noticed that his hat had blown off and was lying 30 ft. behind him in the driveway. I also noticed, with a gut-wrenching feeling, that all the windows on the north side of the house had blown out. My Honda 185s 3-wheeler was parked near the site and now sat with its plastic fenders drooped down and touching the tires. Dang! I could even see the imprint of the tread into the plastic . . . musta been hot, still smokin' . . . funny what you notice at times like that. I wish I knew what I said to my dad at this moment. Truth is, I don't know even if I said something. I couldn't hear anything . . . even inside my own head. I don't think he would have heard me anyway... not that it really mattered. I don't remember much from this point on. I said something, felt a sharp pain, saw black, woke up, felt another sharp pain, blacked out, woke later...my mother told me later that I repeated this process for more than an hour. She also said she had to give me CPR and tried to keep dad from continuing to get at me. Yeah, bring me back to life so dad could kill me again. Thanks mom. One thing is for sure... I never had to mow around that stump again. Mom had been bitching about that thing for years and dad never did anything about it. I stepped up to the plate and took care of business. Dad sold his muzzleloaders a week or so later. I still have some sort of bone growth abnormality . . . either from the blast or the beating or both. I guess what I'm trying to say is, get your kids outside more....into a good sport like archery. Its good discipline and will teach them skills they can use later on in life. Something they won't learn in school.

Now the news just reported that there is another fire near Flagstaff called the Hills fire. They are requesting 5 slurry planes to fight that fire. Suspected again to be human started. http://www.azfamily.com/news/Hill-Fire-now-burning-near-Flagstaff-123507264.html

Well that pretty much burned right thru my camp area for my hunts. So sad to see the area burn but give it a year and the hunts wil be better than ever.
-
That is good news thanks for the update.
-
Wow....Can’t see the forest for the trees!! It is not what you see, it how you perceive what you see.
-
Personaly i think they should pay 100% of the costs to fight the fire. Then that should be in a $1000. a month payment until all is payed in full or the rest of their lives in most cases.

Well I have been off the site for about a year due to this kind of drama. I see it still has not changed. For what it is worth, I hunt every year since the 1980's and my first and last two big game kills were in 2004 Rifle Coues and 2006 Archery Bull Elk. I don't use trail cameras or range finders and I'm obviously not as successful as others in bagging my game. But the one thing I do on every hunt is be successful in what I'm out there for, "The Hunt". Too many people put too much pressure on themselves and others and lose focus on why we hunt. Maybe I'm doing it wrong but it works for me and I enjoy my hunts none the less. Life is short and in Arizona the hunts are even shorter if and when they do come. Don't spoil your hunts before, during, or after with drama. BTW I did not see pictures of your Elk but congratulations on putting it in the freezer.

Best Offroad/ Hyway tires for Coues Country
WinMag replied to Santana Outdoors's topic in Other Hunting Gear
My choice would be the BFG MT T/A KM 2 awesome tire for the money spent. If not these tires I would go with BFG Krawler T/A KX but they won't wear as good on the road. Here is a poll from the Virtule Jeep Club on tires. http://www.virtualjeepclub.com/showthread....highlight=tires Here is another thread about rims. Steel vs Alum. http://www.virtualjeepclub.com/showthread....highlight=tires I hope this helps you some. -
Is that the same one I saw pics of in the Arivaca Store? Nice find.

Nice looking buck... Good Job on getting it done.

I agree with most of the comments listed in the above posts but I will add my .02. I think it depends on where you are hunting also. I use camo for both archery and rifle hunts. Archery is obvious as to why but my rifle deer hunts are always down south on the border. When I'm close to the border I feel it is a must to wear camo rifle or not. You never know when you may have to blend into your enviroment and disappear due to border issues. It's not so much for the hunting as it is for the seldom seen, but does happen from time to time run-ins with the drug runners. Sounds crazy but it does happen.

Great story and a realy nice deer.

NEW PICS buck and other pics from the last couple days in Arivaca
WinMag replied to vegasjeep's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
Very nice buck!! My hunting partner missed on one about the same size last year in 36B. I'm hoping this year might prove better for his aim. We will be down there on the Nov 5th hunt. Vegas....good luck on your hunt of that really nice buck. -
I have a 2000 25MS Tahoe lite 5th Wheel for sale just in time for the hunt season. I'm asking $6500. OBO My contact number is 480-695-6222 (Shane) I bought this 5th wheel new in 2002 from RV Traders in Mesa Az. When the wife and I bought it we had the dealership up-size the 25 gallon water tank to a 50 gallon tank. Then they took it to Cliffs Welding and they flipped the axles and installed another 2" sub-frame under it to give it more lift and support the receiver hitch they added to the rear of the trailer. I have installed duel (27 series) batteries in it and wired it without tapping into the factory wiring for the lights and brakes to work on the second trailer also. It has new Goodyear tires on it with Discount Tire road hazard on them. It will sleep 8 people but is more comfortable sleeping 6. There is a queen size bed up front, a fold down couch/bed, dinette /bed, and two bunk beds in the rear of the trailer. The height of the trailer makes it very usable in the forest in some of the other places where most 5th Wheel trailers can't go do to the truck bed to trailer clearance issues. But it is not so high that it affects pulling it on the highway with a second trailer behind it. Here are a few pictures of it. Yes I'm sure some of you have seen it on your hunts down south.
