Due to my last Elk hunt (When I can get drawn) I don't think the Elk really care about scent to a point. Heck they were all hanging out at my parked Jeep with oil leaks and full Jerry cans on it. They chewed on my soft top for awhile and then left. I was watching them from my binos in my tree stand a mile away.

I'am ex- US Army/Arizona National Guard (855 MP's) but I got out (Honorable Discharge) back in 1986. But the regs seem confusing when I read them and may be easy to make a mistake while up there. So are you saying that I have to be active guard to hunt the limited area?

Thanks for the info....

Looking to buy a Diesel and would like your opinion
WinMag replied to 2 Full Curls's topic in The Campfire
I have had 06 Duramax and loved the diesel but the truck had some issues. The front end on the 2006 Chevys are a weak set up with the way the front hubs mount. Mine went out twice in 40,000 miles. Other than that it was a great truck. Sold the Duramax and bought a 2010 Dodge Cummins Mega Cab. The truck was great but the engine was s h i t to put it simple. fuel millage was terrible, turbo problems, EGR problems, lack of power problems, Check engine light problems, just to name a few. Traded it in on a new 2012 Dodge Cummins mega cab and have not had any problems with it so far with 20,000 miles on it. It is the best running diesel I have had to date. I have not had it in for repair yet but I do have a few rattles in the cab I need to get fixed. Keep in mind though my trucks are used more on gravel roads with pot holes and wash boards more so than most other people do. MPG on all three of these truck averaged 12-13 in town and 15 on the Duramax out of town and 18+ for the 2012 Cummins out of town. When I pull my 5'er the MPG drops under 10 mpg for all 3 of the trucks, both Cummins and the Duramax. Good luck on whatever you buy. -

It is not going to stop until somebody is pushed into a corner and comes out fighting. -
After I posted this I realized it is a baited question........ I know any hunt is only worth what you put into it and what you are looking to get out of it. I'm more looking for is the hassle to hunt the unit as big as it seems.

I just went up there last month and called the Utah State CCW divison of the Highway Patrol before I left. They told me with an Arizona CCW permit there is no problems. But get it right from the horses mouth is your best bet to be safe. http://publicsafety.utah.gov/bci/concealedfirearms.html

I have the S4 and it works great. Easy on easy off and allows for fast easy access to your binos all while protecting the glass. Also does not pull on your shoulders or neck while using them or interfere with shooting bow or rifle. See picture standing on right with 12x50 Leupolds in it.

I don't know the story yet ethier. But I will say I know Brad, and what ever the story is I say kudos to him for doing what I know is the right thing. -
Legal or not my sidearm is always with me. I carried it on archery hunts even before 2006 when GF changed the rule to allow them.

I have had good luck with them and they fly straight out of the box.

All these talks about the newer bows are making me feel dated with my Hoyt Magnatec. Go see Randy at Archery HQ great bow shop with great service.

Michigan tells Unions to back off
WinMag replied to DesertBull's topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
Ah there is so much to be said here about the unions. But I will keep it simple and just say I'm an ex union member Teamsters Local 83 and then merged to Local 104. With that said I will add I will NEVER work under a union again, I 100% dislike them!! nuf said. -
Good luck on your hunt Jimmy.
