Less than what will be killed this year in my opinion.
-
Rut started when it always does around my place in Cochise county. Bucks were breeding does around Christmas into the last few days of the year. It has dramatically tapered off and many bucks are not with does anymore but still searching a bit. My brother said he saw multiple big bucks today hanging out with another buck and no does. Should be some you young does coming into cycle around the time you'll be down. 28 days after most of the does came Into cycle some of them will come into cycle again so at any point in January you could get into some rutting action.

For what you're asking for I would consider soloman quest 4d's. I have a pair and don't use them much anymore because they don't have enough support for what I do, but I wear them on occasion and they are extremely comfortable. They seem to meet alot of your needs minus the gore Tex.

Beautiful in every way! Good read and great buck! -
T/C shockwave inconsistent performance.
creed_az_88 replied to Sparks's topic in Muzzleloader hunting for Coues Deer
All Barnes muzzleloader bullets have been fairly accurate for us but none of them have a high enough bc to be able to shoot to 300 yards and maintain 800 lbs of energy out of a factory muzzleloader. We have switched over to Berry's muzzleloader bullets which are the same as the new traditions smackdown carnivores. Look em up. They are phenomenal bullets. They are the best blend of expansion/weight retention that I have seen yet from a muzzleloader bullet. Buy a handful of them and then try them in as many different sabots as you can. They wouldnt shoot well for me in the sabots that come with them but I tried them in black harvester sabots and they shot as well as most centerfile rifles and maintained 800+lbs of energy out to 325 yards for me which is as far as I shot them. That's with the 250 grainers. 120 grains of b209. They knocked the snot out of two coues deer this year. I'll try to post a video of my buck at 280 yards. Did I mention consistent 3.5" groups at 325 yards from a stock cva accura v2! -
You gonna try to put two 553's together? That would be slick. Bad field of view but man they would be light. I love my 554.

You guys killed it! Fantastic.

Hunting in Mexico with a guide who has cartel ties might actually be the safest way to hunt down there.
-
Holy smokes. That is fantastic!

This has probably been my favorite thread ever. Good job can't wait to check in tomorrow and see what bull you get to take home.

Most recommended economical binos for glassing?
creed_az_88 replied to 0uTkAsT's topic in Optics and tripods
A coworker just bought a pair of 15x56 Cabela's intensity binos. I was impressed for the money. Hard to make much of an assessment while looking for 5 minutes but they seemed like a pretty good bargain. They are the best sub $500 15's that I've looked through by far. -
Might as well be, it's expensive either way.

Yeah that's the one I went to. Taking your fishing pole would probably get your trip cut short for sure. I wasn't real impressed with the flying v. Obviously you don't go to a resort to save money, but dang they are proud of their food. $50 plates a piece, and after it was all said and done, I was wishing we would have hit a steakhouse in town somewhere.

Just spent the weekend there last weekend. Take a fishing pole. Their koi pond is loaded with channel cats. I think I'm the only person there that noticed them. It's Loews at ventana canyon right? Not the other ventana canyon one?

I got it.

I think mid 150's is probably right.

I'll keep it short and sweet. Turns out, it was actually worth the decade long wait for a tag. I had a blast. Got to spend some quality time with my brother which is too rare these days. Almost killed a really good buck the first afternoon. Got to 45 yards from his does but he decided to run off a smaller buck and not come back for hours so I crawled back out and left the does bedded. Turned out to be a good thing because the second day I found my target buck and was able to slip an arrow in him. I was able to creep into 160 yards unnoticed and then spent the following four hours stuck laying on the ground covered in stickers and trying not to melt. They eventually gave me an opportunity to get to 70 and I made the most of the oppurtunity. I didn't get to see him fall but my brother Cole got to watch him flip just out of my sight. He was with 3 does back in a shallow canyon that isn't visible from any roads. He was 3.6 miles as a crow flies from where I first found him in July. He's beyond what I could have ever asked for. I shot him in the that unit that I'm hearing doesn't grow big bucks anymore so I got pretty lucky. I got the very last tag so it must have been meant to be. I feel like I shorted myself only hunting two days but I couldn't pass this buck. Not in a million years could I have passed this buck. Thanks for reading. Creed.
