This will probably be unpopular, but PLEASE create some archery only sheep tags.

I agree with alot of your ideas but definitely not number 5. I don't want a camera season. There is virtually zero camera issues in any of the areas I hunt which is alot, predominantly in the south half of the state. I really like pieces of number 3.

So there's hope! Awesome thanks.

Anybody have anything new show up in their portal account today?

...but ive only killed two deer with a rifle in the last decade 🤷♂️

Don't worry, leftovers will be a thing of the past very soon so it won't matter.

That was me.

They're easy to get close to. 30-30 win just cuz. Or a bow.

What is the twist rate on this beauty?

I use mine more than my rtic. It has impressed me a ton of times. I didn't even mean to buy it I just got into a pinch and it was the cheapest solid looking ice chest at Wal Mart. Might be the best in a pinch purchase ive made, other than that penicillin in Mexico that one time.

Next week at the earliest.

Its like they were trying to focus on making the best hand held binos they could.

How do you mount them to a tripod?

Its very handy for swapping way points with other people who have it. I also like knowing the name of the property owners, but other than that I much prefer using backcountry navigator pro. It does everything that onx does except tell me landowner names. I kind of hate onx's map. Maybe I can change it i haven't tried, but backcountry navigator has tons of maps to choose from. Backcountry navigator is a one time purchase and each layer you decide to purchase is also a one time purchase. I also prefer navigating to way points and recording tracks on backcountry navigator as well. It completely removes the need to use a handheld GPS ever. For me, onx doesn't do that. Apparently I'm the minority here l, which isn't surprising. Onx seems to have taken over the west by storm.

I'm at 11 and I can't catch up to the archery strip points. They creep up one every year. 11 points is a weird place to be. A long ways out from drawing the strip. I could draw a 27 late December Muley tag but I feel like I would rather just be archery hunting down south in December. I could draw most any late December coues tag. But Ive got almost double the amount of points necessary for the units I would want. No more leftovers so maybe the dynamics will change in our favor. Doubt it though.

I'm paying attention to this.

Long Range Fixed Blade Field Point Accuracy

Innerloc carnage and innerloc shapeshifter. By streamline I pretty much mean no blade surface exposed. That seems to be the only way to guarantee field point type accuracy. I've tested more broadheads than I like to admit paying for, and I've come to the same conclusion that you have, even most mechanicals can be very tough to get to hit with field points at extended ranges. This innerloc heads are something special though. They aren't without flaw, but they are the most accurate ive had my hands on. Their only flaw really is that they can be fragile in the quiver. But it's a trade off I willingly accept for the accuracy. -

I killed my last elk with one. I killed my last elk before that with a cut on contact slick trick razor trick and penetration on both was the same. Stopped at the hide on the offside on both elk. Dead in 100 yards or so on both. -

CVA Accura v2 set up

You can order a muzzleloader online and have it sent right to your door step unlike a centerfire rifle. Muzzle-loaders.com seems to have some of the best deals. -
CVA Accura v2 set up
creed_az_88 replied to tyler1215's topic in Muzzleloader hunting for Coues Deer
I'm shooting to 325 yards. The only reason I don't shoot further is because the energy and bullet speed drop off any further than that. I get consistent 3.5" groups at 325 yards and that's a conservative measurement because many times the groups are much better. 200 yards and my bullet holes are touching. Ive tested this load with a cold bore, hot bore, clean bore, and even after 15 shots without swabbing and the accuracy and POI changes very little if any at all. The first shot with a clean bore is usually high about an inch at 300 yards. I hunt with a dirty barrel. I also used to weigh my charges but it became a pain at the range so I just started using a volume measurer and it seemed as if there was very little difference. I believe that this is because with 120 grains of blackhorn in a 27 inch barrel, a small portion of the powder doesn't get completely burned, so any small variances in powder charge means very little. That's just a theory though. -

I've tried most everything in my accura v2. It's a little finicky. I settled on 120 gr blackhorn by volume with 250 gr traditions smackdown carnivore bullets inside of harvester black crush Rib sabots. I spent tons of time and money on all kinds of other combinations and just about gave up on the gun and finally just mixed and matched what I had and stumbled into this load. Save yourself some money and give it a try first. It is freakishly accurate in a gun that appeared to not be very accurate at all. From what I can tell, the smackdown carnivore bullets are just rebranded Berry's blue diamond bullets so you can maybe try them too instead.
