I don't have as much experience as maverick but I highly recommend loc-tite brand super glue ultra gel. I prefer it over any of the fletching glue that I have tried. It's not like normal super glue. It's very easy to work with and very forgiving. The bottle that it comes in allows it to be applied very precisely. Google it. I use it I blazers with an ez fletch mini and it results in pure perfection every time. Maverick is right about the denatured alcohol. Wraps are cheap also and prevent you from having to scrape glue if you decide to refletch.

I got a 10x14 for $380 two weeks ago in the bargain cave. Felt like I hit the jackpot.

No need to change a thing with those groups. Trigger pull weight is only a preference thing. I prefer light but The proof is in the groups.
-
No, I've just heard that Howas come with very good triggers but don't get lighter than 2.5 lbs. I was just curious what you were gonna do.
-
Looks good. You gonna leave the factory trigger in it?

Got a good group of guys itchig to play in a tournament or two this summer preferably in southern az/New Mexico. Anybody know of anything in the near future?
-
Just looked at a different website and it says the tournament is on the 4th. Sweet it might work out. I better call and find out which website is correct.

The one in tombstone is on July 6th and 7th. That's a Monday and Tuesday I believe. If it was on the weekend of the 4th we'd be all over it especially since it's so close to most of us.

I've got one of these. They're fun. Wouldn't wanna get on the receiving end of one either. -

How do you like that scope outdoor rush? -
I'm gonna say the extra brow and beam length gets bull #1 to 350.

Marlin x7. I believe they make a youth model in 7-08 and my research suggests that they are generally more accurate than most other sub $500 guns. They may even come pillar bedded. Another option would be to just buy a 7-08 in an adult model and order an aftermarket stock for it with a short length of pull. Boyds will get you a nice thimbhole stock for about $100. -
Most coues near my home have yet to drop. Pretty much all muleys have dropped though.

I've pretty much settled on meindl airevolutions. The best blend between support and flexibility that I could find. Mine are still plugging away after two seasons. My boots see way too many miles to count in some very rugged stuff.
-
Late mule deer in 27 would be fun. Probably a lot of work though.

She's conquering arizona one animal at a time. Sounds like a good time with family. Congratulations to both of you!

Try looking through the trash cans after an asu/uofa game. Usually all kinds of sun devil apparel in them.

Got a burris mtac which is the veracity's lesser and it is legit. Tracks great . glass is great. Stout. I say you're gonna be pleased. Burris will make you some load specific turrets for it if you're into that. Also, their customer service is top notch in my experience and their warranty is just as good.

Second to partitions(maybe), I've gotta believe that corelokts have killed more elk out of a 30-30 than any other bullet. Because of the low velocity, over expansion shouldn't be an issue. Since you're going old school, why not make it legit and pick up one or two of the ever so faithful green and yellow boxes. Can't go wrong with partitions either just giving you another option.

Is there a lot of brush around there? Looks pretty open in the first pictures. That would explain why they're white. Probably never really got color from rubbing in the first place

R17 with 100 grainers for me. It seems like r17 has a very narrow gap for accuracy but once you find that gap, it's a really good powder for the .243. Max load produced very good groups for me. 1 grain under max was ok. 1.5 grains under max was horrible so don't give up on it If you're getting crappy groups as you ladder up. Imr 4350 seems to be the go to powder for many people in the .243 but r17 gave me better groups once I found its sweet spot.

What a buck! His true size really isn't perceivable until that last picture where you're holding him next to the muley. What a giant.
