I think the bino shield is awesome and overlooked. You can use it with any normal harness like a crooked horn. It keeps your binositol dust free aND up against your chest. I use mine with a rick young hanress. Very streamline.

Tagging out this last weekend was the cherry on top of what was one epic January. I got to lay my eyes on more truly big bucks this last month than I ever have in an entire year. I got to see a couple of lions and I spent some time in some beautiful and remote places with some really good people. I don't usually spend much time near roads while hunting, so my wife, parents and two daughters being able to hike to this buck made it that much more special and is what really made me decide that this deer was a shooter. I was able to get 33 yards from this buck before waiting a little over two hours for him to stand up. As the sun started to drop behind the horizon, he finally stood up and I was able to zip an arrow through him. I hate hunting in the wind, but it definitely made this stalk a little easier. He is not a monster by any means, but he is a memory with my family that I will not soon forget. It's been a couple of years since I last wrapped my archery tag around a coues buck, and unfortunately it'll be another 11 months before I get to try to do it again. Here's a pic of him in his bed from where I spent my long, cold, two+ hours waiting for him to stand. This is him right before I first laid my hands on him. and this is him as i waited for my family to make it up to me. Thanks for looking, Creed.

Yup steal of a deal

I breast out all my doves but skinning out the entire quail is the way I was shown as a kid. There's not a ton more meat on the legs but there's some. I was just curious.
-
That's some good home cooking right there. Do you ever eat the legs?

The 6.oh no. I've got one just like it. Just do some research and take care of what needs to be taken care of asap. Egr delete is usually one of the first things. It might already be done. These motors have a bad reputation. Either you'll love it or you'll hate it. I love mine. I know more people that hate them than love them though. Good luck with it. I doubt it will help you in the draw by the way.

I've settled on the Rick young Harness accompanied by the bino shield by crooked horn outfitters. So simple and effective. I prefer it over any of the bulky harnesses I've tried like the badlands and it's way superior to the old crooked horn Harness in every way.

That's an awesome buck. Great find too on the sheds. Score doesn't matter a bit but do you mind sharing the differences between both years? Just for educational purposes. -
That deer is a giant for sure. Might break a record for width but I have a hard time seeing it break a world record with that shallow fork on the one side. Just saying. Definitely what dreams are made of though.
-
That's awesome. Great way to break in a new bow. Gotta love the hanging javelina picture. That's the only way to show their true size sometimes. Congrats to all of you guys. You should have a lion hunter/houndsmen's number in your contacts at all times for the rare times when you see a lion like that.

Gut it?! Don't know why anyone wouldn't go gutless on a pig. You aren't saving much meat by gutting it I prefer to butcher my meat in a clean area like my shop. I go gutless on deer and elk and even pigs if I'm far from the truck but if I'm close to the truck I prefer to take the javelina home whole and butcher it in my shop or garage. I'd rather not bring home a pile of pig guts so that's just the way I do it. The o.p. Can go gutless it doesn't really matter. The point I was trying to make is that there is no magic way to take care of a javelina. Just do it like you would a deer. Carrying a pig back to the truck is generally a pretty easy task so going "gutless" is not worth it to me when I can skin a hanging animal and then butcher, wash, and package meat all in the same process, and have a bunch of scraps for my dog so literally nothing goes to waste. I can assure you I'm not the only one that does it this way.
-
Just gut it and skin it like you would a deer. Smells bad until you get the skin off then it smells super clean. Try your hardest not to rupture the stomach while gutting or shooting. Don't worry about the scent gland on the back too much. It comes off with the skin. Just get the skin off and meat cooled as soon as you can. I've done a bunch of them. Javelina meat is one of the most under rated meat in all of az. Good luck.

Thanks for the comments guys. I'm pretty fortunate to hunt as much as I do and have the support that I do at home. Watching your arrow sink into a coues buck leaves you feeling like cam Newton felt after he spanked the Cardinals. Unfortunately, when you miss or mess up on a coues buck, you're left feeling like cam Newton after the super bowl.

That's an awesome buck. Love the character. That young buck has a very unique face with no black on it whatsoever. Rare. He would make a fine trophy some day when he's older for that reason.

Thanks bone, really appreciate it.

Would somebody be willing to tell me what, if any, early archery bull tags 8 points will guarantee for a non resident. Feel free to pm me if you'd rather. Thanks. Creed

That deer is gnarly. Congrats.
-
I don't think he's ready for archery yet ringer

Gotcha... I was unaware of his usc days.
