Ive heard of people doing it. I think the problem that you'll run into is that while using the longer distance peep you'll only be able to shoot just a couple of different random yardages. The arrow will be falling at a faster rate longer distances so those pins will no longer match up with anything other than some random ranges and you'll be stuck shooting only those ranges or trying aim between pins and at extreme distances even one yard difference can be multiple inches of drop. Hard to accurately shoot those distances without a slider in my opinion. A multi pin slider would pretty much be impossible to beat for what you're wanting to do.

True that. Can't wait til my girls get to watch me harvest something. They might actually be able to apply for goats too by the time I get a tag. Congrats.

Looks like I'm in the market for a new bow - RIP Tank, RIP my friend....
creed_az_88 replied to mattys281's topic in Bows, arrows, broadheads
I had the same thing happen to a bow tech of mine. I had the same thing happen to my bowtech d350. I never registered mine either and they replaced the limbs, cams and string for me all under warranty. Bull basin did it all for me though. They made all the calls and talked to bow tech so maybe that's why they hooked me up but bowtech(diamond) customer service is top notch usually. -
Ya man, nothing better than that. Congrats.

New rifle...looking for ammo. suggestion
creed_az_88 replied to iBowAZ's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
Before I hand loaded I had really good luck with vital shok ammo from federal. I've had their stuff shoot really well in some very picky rifles of different calibers. They offer. 243 rounds loaded with both the nosler partition and ballistic tip. They also offer them loaded with 100 grain Sierra game kings which is usually a very accurate bullet. You may also consider something loaded with the new 90 grain accubond. That should be a good little performer at the distances you want to shoot. See what the nosler trophy grade line has to offer. -
I was sharing that info for any potential buyers.

You can have Burris install a turret onto that scope for a Minimal price. Burris makes good stuff. Free bump.

I pretty much do mine the same as Bmart, except I sight in the furthest pin first. Currently it's my 60. I like it to be down close to my bubble level so I can easily make sure I'm level before firing an arrow at a distance.

That's right on schedule with what I see every year in border units. For what it's worth, I hunt multiple units every January and it's been a continuous trend to see most of the breeding done in the border units during the last week of January and in units 31,32,and 33 I see more does bred during the first two weeks of January. On multiple occasions I've hunted in 33 during the last few days of January and have seen bucks Bachelored up, and then the next day hunted in a border unit and been in a full blown rut fest.

30a unit / november 4th-10th hunt
creed_az_88 replied to mmatthew's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
Just hunt the spots that are on game and fish's website. They aren't as packed as you would think and they have probably more deer there than anywhere else in the unit. You can venture out from there. -
I Hope I Made the Right 10x42 Decision

I don't remember what model they were. I think they were priced at just over $400. It was probably the 5's. They were better than any other pair of glass in that same price range that they had in there. We compared everything at that price range, I have a relative that's in the market for some new 10x42s. We didn't look at the nikons though. -
He's technically not e-scouting. Surely he knows where that is because he physically set the cameras there. More like the-scouters.

I looked at the sig Zulu binos the other day at sportsmans. It was an Impressive experience. -
Looks phenomenal. Just curious, is that the original velvet, if so what was the preservation process? Just curious for future reference of my own.

Yup, that looks good.

If I'm not mistaken 31/32 has been going to max points.

I've used the silly "baaa" a ton of times to successfully stop a deer and have it shot successfully by myself or others I am hunting with. Sometimes it's the only way to get a deer to stop in a shooting lane before it disappears into a jungle of brush. I havent had it screw me up yet. Just saying.

July 12th 0700 you guys are awesome -
I'm trying to picture that on my wall and it's not working very well for me. It's a little disturbing to me too. Maybe it looks different in person but something about a wadded up piece of skin in a box turns me off. It would be a good way to keep the in laws from coming over though.

For those of you familiar with 13a and 13b, how many 200 inchers get killed that nobody knew about prior to the day they were killed? It seems that every water source up there has multiple cameras on it. Are there any monsters that slip by the big name outfitters and get killed? Surely it happens, but how common is it? Most people who have hunted the strip recommend a guide. Is it that hard to find a big buck on your own up there that isn't already targeted by somebody else? Creed

I use the word potential so when he gives me the slip I can just say I passed on him.

Just thought I would share some pics that I somehow missed and found today right before I formatted the SD card. I bet this deer hates it when it rains. Any guesses on what took her ears? Potential shooter bonus pic

The grass is always wet that time of year. How do you tolerate wet socks all day? My Meindl boots are a joy to wear. If I wore tennis shoes my feet would be bruised from heel to toe. Arizona is very rocky. I would not recommend coming out here in running shoes. Just my opinion.
