    Diaphragm Elk Call

The mellow yellow is also my go to call. It took me forever to find one that works for me. I struggled with every other one I tried and then I slipped the mellow yellow in and it just worked. I use it for both cow and bull sounds. Works like a charm.

    May-soon...

Hopefully not too much lightning with that storm. Really good timing for the deer and still early enough to help the elk some!

    Water purifiers.

So I'm in the market for a new water purifier. My question to all of you experienced backcountry hunters is, how important is it for your purifier to kill viruses? I am strongly considering an msr trail shot, which seems fairly new to the market. It appears to have everything I would want in a purifier except, like many other purifiers, it kills everything but viruses. What are you guys using?

    Water purifiers.

Hey denogean did he filter the water first and still get sick?

    Water purifiers.

That's a good comparison. Those gravity feed systems kind of scare me here in the desert just because of the depth of water needed to dip a bag into. Im still wondering though, is it necessary to have a purifier that kills viruses. Like is there some nasty viruses hanging out in the dirt cattle tank or elk wallow that I might have to filter from that can ruin my hunt?

    . 204 ruger for sale/trade

I hate to get rid of this coyote killer but I just dont use her much anymore. I'm not sure on round count but I've never gotten the barrel hot. I've only shot this gun at paper twice and each time she shot under an inch from sandbags with three different factory loads. Topped with a bsa platinum 8-32x44. Brass and ammo included. I will trade for the right muzzleloader set up and I will consider trades for ultralight backcountry gear. Otherwise I would like to get what I paid for it. $500 firm. Pm me if interested. I live in Cochise County but will be driving through Tucson to Glendale this weekend.

    Couple packs and diesel coolant

First up is a blacks creek Canadian. I have hauled quite a few deer with this pack. It's has some wear and tear but is still completely functional and has plenty of life left. Asking $75 but open to trades. Next up is a hideaway pack frame and bag. I've had it for about twelve years. I've packed out two deer with it and one elk with it but other than that is has gone basically unused. The frame does have some scratches but it is only cosmetic. Asking $65 but open to trades. Next I have a 5 gallon bucket of Triax fleet heavy duty elc coolant. I bought it thinking it was the red coolant but turns out its the yellow elc coolant designed for newer diesel trucks. It has a 600,000 mile life span. It is opened but none has been used. I payed 90 for it and I would like to get $75. I unscrewed the cap and immediately put it back on once I realized it was not red. I live in Cochise County but will be going to Glendale this weekend and possibly next weekend if anybody would like to meet at cabelas. Pm me if interested.

    Gila wilderness bulls.

Still figuring all that out bulldog. Almost surely gonna be a backpack hunt. Gonna make a few trips this summer to get a better feel for what we're gonna do. I drew the tag with a friend. He has a good mule that we may use. Still getting maps together and just starting to look everything over. We've never set foot in the unit. We're all ears though we won't turn down any insight.

  23. My bank account is hurting.... Archery elk in 16b/22 and muzzleloader coues. Booyah!
  24. With the new Mexico deadline approaching fast and my Arizona tag already filled, I'd like to propose a trade with anybody that knows new Mexico coues deer. This isn't something I normally do but with me not having any days off between now and the deadline, Im feeling a little rushed to make a decision on my application choices. I am offering my knowledge of multiple coues units in az. I am willing to share info that can basically put you in a place where you can find 90+inch deer and I'd like the same information in return for an area in New Mexico that is drawable and glassable. I'm willing to archery hunt during September or rifle hunt whenever. I know this is a long shot, but if I don't draw a coues tag in New Mexico then this will be the first year in a very long time that I wont be hunting coues deer for myself and the thought of it scares me haha. I can also offer info on some desert mule deer units and a few elk units. Feel free to pm me. I am familiar with the burro mtns and also unit 27 in new Mexico but my odds of drawing in those places are slim. Let's make a deal! The info you get will be solid, I promise. Creed
