I'll be getting one soon too. Hopefully I can put it to good use. Keep us posted on how you like it and I'll do the same once I get mine. -
Can You Find The Animal In This Pic?
Hunter X posted a topic in Photography of Coues Deer and Other Wildlife
Can you see him? Here's a few more I was able to get that day nothing special or hiden just thought it might help past the time until the draw results are out. -
Wow beautiful pictures thanks for sharing.

Looks like he might be a 3x4. None the less what a giant buck. Thanks for posting the pic.

I'll say he'll finish off right at 391 1/8...... Give or take 10 inches.

Coosefan, I think we were baby sitting in the same area last year. Does this bull look familar?
-
Doug, I can always find time to go fishin' AND go babysit! WOW this bull is well worth another look. Hey Jim do you have any openings for a baby sitting job. I'm well qualified especially if that baby happens to be in 6a west. I can send you my resume if you'd like just let me know if you need any help baby sitting all those big babies. Looks like tough work but someone's got to do it.

Male or Female?
Hunter X replied to firstcoueswas80's topic in Miscellaneous Items related to Coues Deer
I can't tell either one pic looks male and the other female. All I do know is that I don't think I can ever go quail hunting again thanks to these pics. That little guy super cute. -
Looks great. Hey Amanda when are you going to use your video talents to make all of us an awesome coues deer video? Good job on the owls thanks for sharing.
-
Let us know if or when you get it because I'm pretty sure I'll buy one. I'll buy anything with coues in it.

Very nice indeed! Great job on the pictures too. As far as antler growth goes it looks like a good year to have a tag. I've heard from a few people that certain units are more spotty than others when it comes to the amount of moisture that those units got but its still better than it's been the last 2 years. Can't wait to see more pics thanks for sharing.

I most definitely agree. I tried out a pair of minox before I got my Nikon. When I first looked through them I thought wow these are nice but after awhile I couldn't get comfortable with them because the eye cups didn't fit my face well. The optics on the minox were great but I constantly felt distracted while looking through them. I know a lot of people use Minox that don't have this problem. I too feel being comfortable while glassing is a huge factor for being a better glasser because you can spend more or all of your effort and energy into finding game instead of being distracted by uncomfortable binos constantly jabbing you in the corner of your eye socket.

I couldn't agree with you more. I started out with a pair of cheapo Tasco's and a 100 dollar simons spotter then eventually worked my way up to some steiner binos. I hunted with this set up for years and found a lot of game with it. My thought was "wow look at all the deer I can find with these cheap stuff imagine how much I could find if I had the good stuff". So finally I broke down I bought a pair of 10x42 ELs and the Zeiss 85mm spotter. 2 years and many hunts later I came to the conclusion that my new top of the line gear didn't help me increase the number of animals I saw. I never once got a feeling of pride because I owned the BEST. It drove me crazy thinking I spent of $3000 in my optics and didn't see an increase of animals so I sold my top of the line equipment and went back to the cheaper stuff. I now have a $500 nikon spotter and a $275 pair of Nikon Bins and couldn't be happier! For many years Nikon has produced quality optics. They're tops in the mid to low range gear and should give the big boys a run for their money. Got to love the underdog! Nikon 8x30 binoculars $275. Nikon spotting scope $500. Out glassing other hunters with more than $3000 worth of optics Priceless. And I mean PRICELESS!!!

I wouldn't be to sure about that. These bins are going to be an El killer! Just swallow some pride and put your EL's up for sale and get the Nikons! These bins are AWESOME!!!

Hey Azantlerhead sounds like you guys could make your own DVD. I would definatly buy an AZ only shed hunting video especially if you guys put some coues in it. If your half as good as you say you guys are you should have no problem putting one together. You guys should seriously think about it.

Awesome! Your making me wish I lived closer to elk country. Can't wait to see more pictures of the antlers. How about a picture of your dog too? Thanks for sharing.

Where Are You Going to be Opening Morning?
Hunter X replied to Red Rabbit's topic in Rifle hunting for Coues Deer
It doesn't matter to me as long as I get a tag I'll be happy where ever I am come opening morning.
