First off I'd like to say welcome to the site. Now I'm going to be blunt and please don't take it the wrong way I'm just telling it how it is. Your probably not going to get too many people willing to help you out on this. Most guys don't like it when someone's first post is to ask the "where should I hunt" question. Even if it's your 100th post most guys don't like it. You'll probably get a link to the AZ G&F where to hunt section and that's about it. The best way to ask for this type of info is to do it through the PM system only. This way just one person will see the info instead of the whole www even then some people still won't give you any info. Edit your post so it says PMs only please and you might get some more help. Honestly the G&F where to hunt section is all you need to know to get started. Sorry I don't have a link but go to the site and it shouldn't be too hard to find. After reading where they tell you to hunt in 21 you'll have enough good info to go out and do some hunting. Good luck on your hunt and post some pics with a small story if you get one.

Mustangs might have been good at one time or another but they suck now. I've spent over 10 days scouting the Mustangs in the past year and I've yet to see a buck. I average 2-3 does an outing in there. I believe your time would be better spent in a different part of the unit.

This bull is a prime example of why I don't like the scoring systems we have today. I'm mean look at the mass on this bulls tines there like baseball bats and yet these massive tines aren't contributed into the score in anyway. If the mass on this bulls tines were cut in half and the tine length remained the same length he'd still score the same even though he'd lose a ton of bone. The score on this bull does him no justice. This has got to be one of my all time favorite bulls I've ever laid eyes on. Congrats Jared and thanks for sharing the pics!

Digiscoped some bucks
Hunter X replied to Ad-Hunter's topic in Photography of Coues Deer and Other Wildlife
Great pics thanks for posting! The one buck does look very nice as does the skyline buck. How far were the deer when you took the pics? -
Do you have any pics of this 380 bull? I don't know how good at scoring you and your buddy are but maybe you underestimated him or worse overestimated him. I've been on quite a few of these rifle hunts in premo units and I would say unless you have a couple 400s already pick out shoot the 380. Worrying about score too much can ruin a hunt in a hurry. 380 is BIG especially a 6x6.

I don't know about you but I wish there were more road hunters out there. The more people on the roads the less I'll run into back in the sticks. The only people that should be complaining about too many road hunters are other road hunters. Everyone please stop encouraging road hunters to get off the roads and hike. Road hunting is the only way to go I've hunted 33 for 2 season and I saw all my bucks from the road. No need to do all the work of hiking to get a buck just drive up to a nice vantage point, pull out the optics and lawn chair and pop open a box of Twinkes. Doesn't get any better then this! And if you don't see anything after about an hour or so then jump in the nice air conditioned truck and cool off while listening to some good ol George Strait until you find another good vantage point to glass from. Once you find a new location get out and do it all over again but this time rip open a bag O' jerky and bust open a nice cool beverage because obviously the Twinkes didn't work out for you. The key to good road hunting is variety in your snack choices. Try different snacks until you find the one that produces bucks. For me its Ho Ho's and Cactus Cooler this combo is deadly on big ol' road bucks. Another road hunting tip while hunting unit 33 is to always have some George Strait in the CD player. For some reason or another GS is the only music that will help you find those roadie bucks in 33. It's almost like when they hear good Ol' George singing they say "hey that's some good music right there I'm going to get up and see where it's coming from". Use these tips and your unit 33 hunt will be freaking AWESOME!

I've been waiting for a post from you. You definitely didn't disappoint! Year after year you and your buds find giant bucks.

I deleted the pic and link I posted so I wouldn't cause any problems with posting links and pics without permission. I just wanted to confirm it was the same bull QCwtAddict was talking about. Too bad it wasn't an otc tag bull from AZ. If anyone wants to see the bull do a goggle search for 540 high fence bull and you'll find it.

Check out this MONSTER buck!
Hunter X replied to CouesWhitetail's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
I'm still having trouble scoring this buck. How would one measure the 1st mass measurement be on his right side? Would the base of the extra beam be included in this measurement or is it separate from the other beam? I can't see a distinction between the two and it looks like one big ol M1 measurement for the right side. -

I don't know how one would score a buck like that so I'm not going to try but he looks like he has a 110 frame. That's a one of a kind buck right there thanks for posting the video. I hope someone is lucky enough to get him this year beside a mt lion. BTW what in the world is he eating at the start of video 1??? I've never seen anything like that before almost looks like a fruit of some kind. Is it the fruit of a yucca???? Whatever it is I want to plant some in the units I hunt so I can have some 3 horned bucks running around too . -
Congrats!!! That buck is a STUD! Tell your dad he's a stud too. Thanks for sharing the hunt with us.

WOW! You have some great bucks in those pics. Hey Danny I'm just curious out of all those bucks which one would you'd like to shoot? I like the buck running with crooked horn buck. That buck is NICE!!! Heck I'd love to see any of them in my area come November. Do you happen to have a rifle tag in this area? Anyways thanks for posting the pics.

Great pics man! My 1st thought was all the bucks would score over 100 but after a harder look I would guess the 1st buck would gross right around 95, the 2nd buck was a hard one but I's say around 90 and the 3rd around 105. I'm no expert so I could be way off. It's very hard to score a buck from just one angle for me at least. No matter the score you got an AWESOME spot there my man! Do you happen to have any more pics of these bucks at different angles? It would help to see different angle if possible.

After reading all this I thought it over and came to this conclusion. Polygamy is not that bad of an idea. Think about it guys and gals you can have one wife to do the shopping, one for the cleaning, and one for the kid raising. The man of the house would do all the yard work and fix things that need fixing. Whoever could get the best job would be the money maker but everyone could help out with this one if they can. Seriously as long as the people entering the union are willing and of the proper age Polygamy seems like a good idea. All the chores would be done quicker and you'd have way more free time with the family and for things like...mmmm.....I don't know..... Hunting??? I don't know why the idea is looked down on and not even giving a chance now that I think about it with an open mind. I'm not the best when it comes to scripture but I think Moses was a polygamist don't know for sure but I think he was. Who are we to judge or take away someone's free will. Seriously stop and think about with an open mind. Polygamy isn't half bad.. In fact its all good brothers and sisters of the forum. Its all about the love the bigger the better.

I heard 2 different stories on this buck. The kid taking a piss story and another story. I can't give any info on the other story but I believe it more than the kid taking a leak. Either way what a buck!

Congrats on a great buck. I don't have a problem shooting to scare the deer up as long as you have a clear view of what your shooting like a rock or something. Normally I'll try other things first like throwing rocks down the canyon, banging rocks together and even yelling to get the deer up. Once again congrats on a great hunt and an awesome buck. Mathews sent you a PM.

I went out this weekend and got lucky and glassed up a bobcat. This is only the second bobcat I've ever glassed in 20+ years of hunting. This thing looked very big almost like a big dog. I got about 5 seconds of video I'll post as soon as I can. This cat looked huge! I have no experience whatsoever when it comes to these but it looked like it had to way at least 50 lbs. My question is how big is a big bobcat?

What Is Considered A Big Bobcat?
Hunter X replied to Hunter X's topic in Predator Hunting and Trapping
That looks like one heck of a bobcat COOSEFAN. The one I saw looked a lot like that one so I guess I was way off thinking it weighed at least 50 lbs. After read all the post I'm thinking it probably was between 20-30 lbs but no less than 20. My wife wiener dogs weighs 17 lbs and this cat was quite a bit bigger than the dog. Like you said you need something there to compare its size with like a prickly pear or something similar. The only thing I had was grass and mesquite so it was hard for me to do this. I hate to admit this but when I first saw him I mistaken him for a lion until I saw the tail. It was only 175 yards away slowly walking up a hill. Should have been an easy shot if I had a gun but I was helping my uncle on a mule deer hunt so I didn't have a gun with me just the binos. -
Big 2 Point!

Tines how much did that buck score? -
Wow those are very nice! Thanks
-
This bull looks very similar to the bull in question and it scored 372. All the lengths look close to being the same at least to me but I have trouble accurately scoring elk from pics without seeing a whole bunch of different angles. After seeing sdrhunters pic and this pic I just posted I can see the bull scoring anywhere between 360-380 but not much lower or higher. All I know for sure is that I'd shoot him in a heartbeat on opening morning.

sdrhunter is that an antler?

Watched it again and got a little more than last time. G1s 15 G2s 15 G3s 12 G4s 20 G5s 18 MB 51 ISS 35 MAS 27 361 gross I'm no expert though. Its fun trying to guess though. O by the way he almost gave me a "boner" maybe if I saw him in person instead of on the computer I would. Got to love an elk video that uses the word boner in it. Very nice!
-
When I first watched the vid my first impression was thats a 370 class bull but after I broke him down I got in the 350s but he looks much bigger than that to me. Since you got to see him first hand what do you think he scores Christian? Thanks for sharing by the way great video!
