PINETOP-LAKESIDE — Richard Dryer, an Arizona Game and Fish fisheries biologist for more than 30 years, is now at the Barrow Neurological Institute in Phoenix following a heart attack that caused him to lose control of the Game and Fish truck he was driving on Oct. 2. Dryer was southbound on state Route 260 when he suffered the heart attack, ending up on the west side of the highway in dense trees and brush near Camp Grace. Navajo County Sheriff’s Office (NCSO) deputies Connor Francis and Don Griffith are credited with saving his life when they performed chest compressions on Dryer at the scene, before he was taken to Summit Healthcare. “They were at the right place at the right time with the needed training,” NCSO Chief Deputy Jim Molesa said. Bruce Sitko, a local Game and Fish official, said no other details are available at this tim

WHAT RIFLE WILL YOU BE SHOOTING THIS SEASON?
biglakejake replied to AZ_SAWBUCK's topic in Rifle hunting for Coues Deer
that 1953 '06 my dad bought at babbitt brothers in '54. if its rainy and wet maybe that 1950 .270 i paid too much for(lol!) back in 2000. lots of 24A hunts over 30 years but my first muley tag there-have not hunted deer with the '06 since 1978 so this will be a real treat. lee ps both 100% original except for the tru-oil finish i put on the 30/06. -

at first this pic from the royal looked like a serious contender for 'dego photo of the season so far. blue sky, blue sea, 30 lb forkie, big smiles and all. but no-the next photo shows the cut and it's sadly ineligible. good try. i guess i will just have to force myself to keep looking at the pics rolling in.

do NOT let that tag go unhunted! draw odds are under 10% these days for a reason. i was in a management program in 2008 and didn't hunt my last 3C tag-regret it every fall. i live in the unit and can be a friend. but better yet contact forum member shane koury-KouryGuideService. good luck, lee

http://www.976-tuna.com/e107_plugins/landing/audio.php?btrack.7.1375889125 some copy and paste pics from the Grande yesterday and the report from the Excell. Daily Fish Report Captain Justin Fleck Wednesday, August 7 10:39 AM The Excel stops at the local Bluefin grounds & lands 120 Bluefin, the largest weighed 184 lbs. Justin Fleck checked in from the Excel with this report. "We had a good day yesterday at the local Bluefin grounds, 50 to 60 miles from home. We had a drift right out of the gate for 80 of those fish. Most of the fish were 35 to 50 lbs., a couple 65 and 70's mixed in. To top it off at the end we hooked a big one that we fought for 2 hours. with a 40 lb. test we ended up getting it, it was a 184 lbs Bluefin caught at 50 miles. We went back and got another 40 so we ended up with about 120 Bluefin yesterday. The weather was a lot nicer than we expected. We see a very good sign of fish on the local grounds we expect it to be good for awhile. And the grade of fish is phenomenal for being that close.

Tommy's second skipper gettin' it done. hunting season and bugling bulls are upon us but................... this post was on another site but here's the copy-n-paste...... Polaris Supreme Upcoming Trips Sun Aug 25 2013, 07:30PM by Richie I've said it before and I'll say it again. Bluefin are the most unpredictable fish out there that we fish for. If you would have told me yesterday that we were going to have a day like we had today, I would have laughed in your face. Never again though. I will never trust this fish. For the last several days the bluefin fishing was very poor. I really thought that it was over for the year. I was wrong. Today we experienced the best bluefin tuna fishing I have ever seen. This is on a quantity to quality ratio that I'm talking about here. In my 13 years of long ranging, today was the best for the Bluefins. Just after 6:00 this morning we stopped on a single fish mark under the boat. Just after 6:00 tonight we left them. The whole time we drifted it was pretty much wide open. The fish were from 25 up to 75 pounds. Most of them being in the 30-40 pound range. Once again we went into battle and we won. Oh yeah, we fished in the rain. At around 11:00 it started raining and it never stopped. Everyone on board was absolutely drenched all day and it was awesome. By the end of our stop no one was fishing so Mark and I grabbed a couple of rods and boated 3 of them ourselves. It was only Mark and I fishing and I was bringing one in and wouldn't you know it, when the fish was at gaff, there was Mark's spectra tangled all over my fish. 2 anglers fishing and he manages to make a big tangle. MAAAARK!!! I would have made him put on the dunce helmet but he was already wearing it. Heres why. There was a 2 fish tangle and Mark grabbed 1 of the rods to unwrap it and he dropped it right in the water. MAAARK!!!. Unbelievably another person fishing managed to hook one of the guides on the rod and we got it back. Fish and all. I immediately tossed Mark the yellow dunce helmet and he wore it all day. Needless to say everyone on board is beat tired and we will not have any trouble sleeping through the night tonight. We're headed for the yellowtail grounds now and will be there first thing in the morning.

Big, strong hunter gatherers almost always end up as crippled up, fat old dirt farmers and bottom fishermen. any interest in a gardening forum here? i guess i could just go to better homes and gardens forums........ but i don't think they would get my references to toad anaheims and monster kentucky wonders-much less the 400 class tomato plants....... lee
