for tuna the only real option is san diego. seaforth, h and m, point loma and fishermens are the landings that provide all-inclusive tuna trips that range from 12 hrs to 20 days on the water. all inclusive usually except for tackle rental, beer, wine, soda and fish filleting. the 12 hour, 1 day and day-and-a-half trips do not include food. yellowtail are available at mainland and baja ports anywhere south of penasco and san felipe. fishing is not a hot topic at mainland ports so most serious fork fishermen go to baja ports santa rosalia, mulege, loreto, la paz and the east cape. la paz and cabo also offer tuna of the yellowfin variety only. san diego tuna trip prices seem steep unless you have tried to catch tuna from your own private boat. but that's another story. that being said after 35 years chasin' tuna I still feel san diego 1.5 to 5 day tuna trips are a bargain. lee

Mentor I never met-i kept inviting him to the White Mountains every winter while he was in Patagonia-but stll influenced me without ever a meet-up.. Poetry I never thought would come from me and a renewed interest in writing came out of a literary infatuation that has lasted over 20 years. For a quick dose of the best of Jim Harrison I recommend the novella 'Sunset Limited' in his collection 'The Woman Lit By Fireflies'. The opening page is of a mother and daughter waiting for the Sunset Limited in the predawn dark at the Wilcox station. I have watched that train from the Dragoons while waiting for glassing light back in the '90's. now jim and the 'limited are gone forever. lee
