the most terrible agony i ever endured on hunting trips was calf and hamstring cramping. scary painful, crippling. a few months ago i discovered drinking baking soda water for the awful cramps coming from my bp meds. instant relief after years of pickle juice, pills and gatorade. they were worthless but the baking soda was a minor miracle. lee

the only place i've seen a wingshooting opportunity was on the ridges around pancho springs in unit 1. facing north at mid-morning they were flying upslope thru the ponderosas' like f-16s on afterburner. i have a dozen or so most days in my front yard and hawks take a few-are they any good to eat? you can find many foraging on the ground along the rim road east and west of hiway 60 just south of show low. lee -

i got shut out of gold or silver again even with three teams in three leagues. Bob-stand up and take a bow-is playing the last week for GOLD ! EDIT came back from oblivion on two straight sundays in another 12 team league to take my first ever gold. started the last day down 2-9 and my boys pulled it off. lee

hard to the core? if it's not fun it doesn't git dun. glassing winter range bulls in jan/feb temp zero winds 35. climbing an altar valley peak in the dark when it's 85f/80%h just to look at velvet bucks at dawn. getting up at 3am to glass bulls for two weeks straight b4 archery bull and going to work every day. driving 5 hours in the dark, sleeping 2 hours in frozen pickup just to hunt last day of december coues for an hour. i had some fun. not too much success with tags. lee

in my 30's i was hunting tuna at level 9(close to 100 nights a year not in my bed at home), then back to bear, coues and elk in AZ as a 9 in my 40's(100 night same). nowadays an adventure is a trip to the ER or a bull bugling in my backyard. lol. lee
