been hunting Arizona since i was 6yo, 60 now and still have not seen a live lion in the wild. kicked out a few bears in the dark but i was always most afraid of hydrophoby skunks and foxes. scariest thing happened in broad daylight-descending a steep slope in big canyon i see a huge, black mass of bees as big as a house headed up right at me. nowhere to go so i hit the ground, covered up and waited to die. turned day into night. pucker factor 10+. lee

i cannot comment on present conditions. mid to late 1990's we filled two 5th choice tags in the gunnison hills between I10 and the tracks east of dragoon. another just west of town along the rairoad grade. actually glassed him up on the radio tower peak just north of the tracks. never even saw a decent track. we had an unsuccessful hunt in 2000 in the southern end but found better sign along high lonesome road along the east side of the mule mountains. all still-hunting there however. good luck, lee

loved my Gregor welded boat-tough as nails-for 15 years on the mountain. from Lee's Ferry to the parker strip, san carlos, roosevelt and all over the mountain. has a 900lb capacity for camping. eventually though the sciatica got too bad. lee

back in 2006 i was set up next to the hiway in heber and i bought a nice matched set from 4b. the left side had perfectly split, matching 13 inch thirds. good luck! lee
