    questionable AZ history

a boulder got sieber. intentional or not still debated but apaches built the memorial on az87 just north of roosevelt dam. never mind the otherquestion-my timeline is off. tom horn and corydon cooley were the names i was looking for but they were concurrent chief of scouts with sieber. cooley started in 1871 but was not called a chief of scouts until much later. working on listening to the Arizona oral history page on cooley. lee ps a great bibliography i just stumbled on is below: http://www.zybtarizona.com/biblio2.htm

    questionable AZ history

"don't trust these white men-they are coming to steal your land". the other version i have heard is "don't sign any treaty's with these guys". Al Sieber was the most famous of the chiefs' of Apache scouts. a couple sidenotes: who were the two chief of Apache scouts before Sieber? after Sieber was fired from the scouts he died working with Apaches. how did he die? if you have stopped and read the monument beside the road-should that count? lee

    Who am I?

there were colorado river pikeminnow(nee squawfish) throughout the gila, salt and verde systems including the phoenix canals until well after roosevelt dam was built. settlers called them desert salmon because of spring runs.

heber huh? i am not lecturing anyone but the entire country has adopted these dang feral caballos. the university system and equine groups are fully informed and have created watch groups. from san diego to boston people are hearing about this. there is no bigger hot button issue for ncso, azgfd, and usfs. not drugs, crime, traffic, health-this is a smokin' hot topic throughout the southwest. the wolves did not get this level of interest. laugh about watch groups if you want-little old ladies out 10am till 2pm with dime store binoculars right? wrong. look into the history of nau enviro activism and you may be in for a rude awakening. feds have camera traps that catch your tire treads and license plate at the same time. i have no doubt there is money for undercover ops. the 2008(?) busts were the result of young sportsmen getting wildlife citations reduced by giving up horse shooter buddies. no one is going to attempt a solution until the carcasses stop showing up. just shoot me, lee
