this time at night seven years ago was as hard as losing a parent. its little better now-the word Yarnell should not be listed with South Canyon, Mann Gulch and Dude. a dozen or so ways/choices to avoid the tragedy-only one to walk head-on into it. leaving the good black at that time, on that day, in those conditions left but one outcome. it is just so difficult for brave men-and women-to stand down and watch others do the fighting. lee

always take a good look at the 'triangle' btween highways 180/180A and 61. an overlooked area is south of Navajo Travel Center on I40. i don't remember the mile marker but it is about 5mi west of chambers. it used to be called spurlock ranch rd. lee

WMAT weekend lockdown starts tomorrow at 8pm, until monday 5am. shelter in place order continues for a full 2 weeks with extensions likely. there are lots of smarter people here than myself but i anticipate a wider cast net. FEMA has been analyzing the old kmart throughout the event-room for bedspace-and tales of a massive outbreak with hospital staff and their families and friends. the gallup scenario could perhaps play out here but i sure hope not. if so i am headed for bullhead. lee

i went to the bank this morning for cash to get the boat and the ATM ate my card. i was measured in my response but i did get to talk to a VP. "mr elbert your card was probably a little bowed from your wallet". i am not done with them yet and if i lose a first choice............................

standman is first on the scene. WMAT total lockdown for the foreseeable future. my Dr. is on the crisis mgmt team for non-reservation Navajo county. he will look you right in the eye and tell any and all that by Christmas the county will have had a 90% infection rate. good luck, lee

word on the mountain is a fishing opener of 7/2/20 or 7/3 on the fort apache. hatcheries have been stocking non-stop since march. i have NOT BEEN ABLE TO VERIFY this with anyone but tribal members. lee
