    What State

just a thought kevin that might keep you from full-timing it in payson or show low. many of my friends and neighbors are based in show low until the kids are gone and then they buy an inexpensive little place-bungalow? fishing cabin? anything? 150 miles away in roosevelt estates or tonto basin. three seeason fun-in-the sun but mostly escaping january frostbite during downtime. some areas out of town-show low-are best avoided when buying-david spade called navajo county the meth capital of arizona. his mom lives here as does george takei-sulu. tons of home improvement work in both areas. lee ps the difference in weather between show low, white mountain lake and the higher pinetop/lakeside can be astounding.

    Lee's Ferry Walk In Question

2004-2005 i was a grocery rep going to marble canyon lodge and store. several invites but i was spoiled by a 1976 trip w Mike Pock, Frank Kush and Bob Hirsch and his boys. bass boats, ambassadeur reels and half the trout we caught were over 5lbs. azgfd says its not their fault but i doubt that-of course all those biologists are way smarter than this AZ redneck. at least the scenery is still good. lee

    Annual Cwt tuna trip

Kev this would be less than ideal for those newly infatuated with pelagic species fishing. the competition for rail space can be off-putting-especially for lady anglers and youth-and often the best fishing brings out hordes of klingons unlike the recent gentlemen on the excalibur. thats life on open party cattleboats. try looking for 4/5 pack independents that cater to families and really want you to return. 2 man crew, motivated, skilled, service oriented and quick to recognize a need to change tactics. one-on-one instruction on fishing the spot, fishing the slide, feathers and rigging, irons and casting, the first 30 seconds, the last 30 seconds. a few more $ will get you vastly increased skills. and the party boats will always be there. luck, lee

    Proposed changes to fishing regulations

big changes the last 5 years or so. seemed to start w the pinetop creel census guy Richard asking all anglers if they prefer bigger trout or more 10" ones. show low and fool hollow never get anything less than 13" now-often 15"+, and other white mtn lakes are getting bigger trout also. the big predator fish in show low, fool hoolow and rainbow had a lot to do with it. i can not speak of the rim or flagstaff area waters. lee

frank was an offshore petroleum engineer on furlough according to him. samoan size and i got my doubts. said he was on 4th straight 1.5 day trip i think. if that drunk was a petroleum engineer he prob caused the micando blowout under deepwater horizon. Kev left out how hard the decks worked to get Pickles a fish. bft being bft. i started trying for something to hand off about 2pm after alot of guys hit the bunks. big boils on the spot but i dropped a hookbait in the middle of 3 boils and not a touch. a few casts later on 25# i got spun but ended up with a 'swing and a miss'. tank guy was handing me primo baits in the net and i couldn't get bit after that sinker or flyline. these were incredibly beautiful bluefin coming on board still lit up after a 20 min fight and 3 trips around the boat. just brilliant colors, puking bait, you could see the energy in these overfed beauties. intimidated. i need to take off 20 years and a hunnerd lbs. lee

    Poor man's Alaska fishing trip?

EXPEDITION BROKER CALL US TOLL-FREE: 877-674-1362 TRIPS BLOG WHY US WHAT WE DO CONTACT TRIP INQUIRIES ALASKAN YELLOWFIN FISHING ALASKAN YELLOWFIN FISHING Southeast Alaska has moved one step closer to becoming a tropical paradise this winter due to global warming and rising ocean temperatures. No palm trees yet, but early catches of both dorado & yellowfin tuna by local winter trollers have scientists and the fishing industry simultaneously energized and mystified. Local Tlingit commercial fishing legend, Stuart Dewitt, is optimistic, “My family & ancestors have eaten halibut and salmon from these waters for millennia. Millennia… That’s a long butt time to only have two types of fish in the freezer!!” Harry Reitze of Haines Packing states, “These are the first ever caught this far north but I’ve converted my whole processing facility this winter for the upcoming summer catch of mahi mahi and yellowfin. We always like to stay well ahead of the competition. Let’s see the Canadians try to farm raise these bad boys!!” Alaska Department of Fish and Game’s regional office in Juneau announced in a press release earlier this week, “Since we obviously can’t figure out what the heck is going on with the decline in native king salmon, we’re encouraged by the arrival of new species so the commercial and charter fleet will have a new quarry to catch and hopefully get them off our backs about where the kings are.” Give us a call and contact us today only for an Alaskan yellowfin or dorado fishing trip!!
